Maryland is FINALLY geting some love (#24 this week). I'm perfectly happy there, we're too young for top 15 and need another quality win before we move into the top 20.

"I put no stock in religion. By the word religion I have seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of god. I have seen too much religion in the eyes of too many murderers. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness. "

Well Ga. Tech lost thier first game yesterday, to UGA of all possible teams.
Well I want to congratulate the Dawgs on thier victory, it was a brawl all throughout and the dawgs with a good game plan and four determined seniors came out ahead.
We can't overlook the hideously poor SEC officiating in this game. But the dawgs still played well.
That said, and Dook or UNC fans that start saying that GT is overrated because we lost to the dawgs need to understand that unlike Auburn's football team, we earned our ranking, we were merely caught in a brawl with an archrival determined to beat us. I say we still belong in the top ten despite this loss.

My heart was about to explode during this game. I couldn't sit through the second overtime, I had to take a break.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.
Sorry, but don't make excuses. Our shooters aren't nearly as good as yours, we have absolutely no depth whatsoever, and your boys had more than a few pounds on us as well. Refs or not, you had absolutely no business losing this game with the way Tech has been playing basketball recently.Lord MJ wrote:Well it seems like the SEC and the ACC uses a combined officiating crew for basketball.
It was still poor though.

Even with the officiating problems, Tech should've won this game. I counted at least four chances we had to put the game away in the overtimes, but everytime we f**ked up. I suppose it's a good thing we lost, it lets us know what our weaknesses are so we can fix them by the UNC game. I really hope we don't lose to UNC, their fans are the ones most critical of Georgia Tech's ranking, and we must give them a spanking. Odds are against us though, this is an away game against one of the best teams in the ACC.
But despite our sloppy play, and the intensity UGA played with, the officiating problem can't be overlooked. Paul Hewitt was quite agitated about it, but was classy enough to let it slide. If you guys were playing against a team like Dook or Texas Tech with thier big name coaches, I bet you a million bucks that Coach K or Bobby knight would be making a spectacle of themselves over that officiating.

UA over ASU but the part I liked was Lute Olson dishing a smidgen of trash talking back to some obnoxious fans. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Arizona Daily Star wrote:TEMPE - Lute Olson was on foreign turf, surrounded by unfamiliar faces from the Phoenix dailies and a table top of unfamiliar microphones from Fox 10 News, XTRA 910, ABC 15 and a dozen more.
It was a group willing to listen, and Arizona's basketball coach had a message he wanted to deliver to this new audience.
"It's been a great run in Tucson," he began, touching on his milestone victories, his plans for the future and the events of the day, a dominating 93-74 victory over the Sun Devils.
To the victor goes not only the spoils but the coveted newspaper space and TV time.
On this unfriendly piece of ground, in which he has won 17 of 21 games, Olson dispensed one of his most effective coaching performances of the last 30 years. It was a clinic, actually, and those mouthy lunkheads in the Sun Devil student section should have been charged a second admission to witness its on-court execution.
No wonder the Wildcat coach, steamed at the profanity directed at him in the final minutes of a walkover, pointed to the scoreboard and later said "you should learn to keep your mouth closed when you are down 30-something points."
"Frankly, it's disgusting," he said, among other things.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
Whoever knocks.

After a two game slump with losses to Georgia and North Carolina, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have bounced back with a wins over Virginia and Maryland, and a stunniing road win over Wake Forest!!
Winning in Winston Salem was so awesome, too bad I didn't get to see it on TV
On another note, I have to give props to UGA for defeating the fifth ranked Kentucky Wildcats. After that feat, out loss to the Dawgs doesn't look so bad anymore.
