I worked in a little outlet clothing store during high school. I went into work after a crappy day in school (I had already spent several hours putting up with my fantastically stupid teachers and other students) and saw my manager rapidly walking around pretending to straighten up the store. She was being followed by a continuously talking old man. Bad sign.

When she saw me, she went to the counter, pretending to look at some notes, and then said, "Could you please take over out here? I need to make some calls in back," and ran off, abandoning me to this guy.

He followed me around for the next straight hour, blowing off his mouth about everything he "thought." You see, he's the kind of person who has never had an actual original thought in his life. He listens to Jerry Falwell, Rush Limbaugh, etc. and repeats EVERYTHING they say. I was ringing up other customers with him standing beside the counter informing everyone that the Sept 11 attacks were a direct result of prayer being taken out of schools. And everything else...you've all probably heard everything that guy had to say about everything. Even worse, I couldn't kick him out because his wife was shopping in the back. I didn't dare to say anything against him because my manager was in the store, and it's just not good for business to take out an old man's knees.

At least when he started repeating himself his wife was done shopping, and she partially made up for it by getting a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff.
