I've always thought 1920s America and London sounded like a lot of fun.

Yeah, if you don't mind cars that only go 30 mph and factory smoke everywhere.

In that case, I'd be sure to pack my asthma inhalers and bring my Buick. I mean, they'd have petrol for my car, right?

It might not be formulated right. And no one could work on it if it broke.

I think the Roaring Twenties in the States or Toronto would be cool, that or World War Two Britain. Somewhere where there's a strong, cohesive identity, with character and excitement.

Granted, I sound like a poetic moron, but what can you do?

30 mph cars?
If you had the money, you could pick up a 110 mph Buggatti, Hispano-Suiza, Issotta Fraschini, Bentley, Packard, Pierce Arrow, or any number of more obscure, high-dollar performance cars of the twenties.

Even a Model T could do 55.....

I know what they're capable of, but the quality of the roads severly hindered performance.

America, 2004 here as well. After all, it's home. That's said, I like the idea of going back to 1980s and buying alot of technology shares in key companies. I could watch the old cartoons as well.

Why not start in the 70's so you can have insane amounts of sex and still have time to invest like crazy in the 80's? :D

And the fact that the world wasn't in the best of shape. Sure everything was cheap but ya didn't get payed $5 an hour. Then the fact that that was a flight of fancy. Just around the corner is a horrible time.

I'm happy where I am, when I am.

I feel I should also mention that, being a product of the 80's, that was also a quite magical time for me. The 80's was great and I still think Miami Vice is cool. Come on, man. White blazer and slacks, hot pink t-shirt and a ferrari. What could be cooler? Big hair, Hair Bands, hair spray, yuppies, atari, go out-arcades were popular, colors everywhere! Jams, Howard the Duck, Pogo Balls, Neon EVERYthing....

I'm also curious...when you think of past decades, what do you think of? I associate it with weather, for some reason for instance:

the 70's- when I think of the 70's I think of drab, dreary, rainy days, no sunshine, and always cold. Perhaps because earth tones were so popular and cars were either pea-soup green, anemic shit brown, or Deathbed White.

The 80's- when I think of the 80's, I think of a hot summer. REALLY hot summer. Maybe because I lived in Georgia, but I associate the 80's with super hot temperatures, and cool, air conditioned houses. Color, color, color. Neon, big hair, blah blah blah. said all this already, but COLOR

the 90's-Crisp winter. Nothing special here. Just bundle up. it's windy, it's cold, it's the 90's. I graduated H.S. here. Street Fighter 2 tournaments at Pearl Ridge Mall stand out.

the 2000's- Jury's still out on this one, though it looks like a "Fall" Decade to me.

Living in the 90s era America would also be great. I always wanted to see what the early nineties were like.
I have to tell you something everything I wrote above is a lie.

Well according to this, Valinor is about where the American South is around ten thousand years later.

Rome would be nice, but I'm not Roman, I'd probably be a slave. I think I'll stick with the present.

I was going to name some places and times, but I'd probably be burned as a witch or heretic in all of them. Best case scenario I'm just ignored because I'm female. I'll just stick with now.

(Though the thought of doing some massive crazy investing in the 80's sounds great, as long as I kept my knowledge of now.)
