It was a serious question, does anyone know if lead dust is any more or less toxic than DU? We've been using lead in armaments for the past few hundred years, and if DU is no more toxic internally than lead, then the arguments that DU shouldn't be used because of it's dust's toxicity is null and void, considering that lead ammunition has been and will be used for hundreds of years.Darth Wong wrote:I have another question: would you happily spread 100 tons of lead dust onto a city, concentrated into little pockets where children tend to play?Nathan F wrote:And so is lead. But I do have a question, is lead dust any more or less toxic than DU dust?Darth Wong wrote:Nevertheless, it is highly toxic, and one of the problems in Iraq is that children tend to play in and around the wrecked shells of tanks.

I think if there is any problem, it's probably due to it's ease of having (U/UO?) inhalable dust particles form after/during impact rather than deforming.
