Emphasis mine.

They played Indy twice and won twice.

They played Tennessee twice and won twice.

They played the Eagles and won.
::Sigh:: Enough. Like Crackpot in a previous thread you hop on the good highlights and ignore the fact that you played:

Buffalo twice (won one lost one), played the Jets twice (won both by a mere touchdown each, agaisnt the single worst defense in football,) Washington (lost,) the Browns (won by six points,) Houston (won just barely by three points,) now those teams are some of the single most attrocious teams in football right now and you won most of them just barely. And now you claim that you can blow out the Panthers? BS. As I said before I think the pats will probably win, but it's too close to give a definite call.
In the regular season, we lost to KC, the second best team in the AFC, by a field goal. And that was at the low point of the season.
Nope, that was Washington, it be redeeming if it was KC, but no you played the Jetskins and lost. That is BAD.
And you're ignoring the fact that since our two losses to Buffalo and KC, WE'VE WON 14 STRAIGHT PLAYING THE BEST IN THE AFC!
Playing against some of the most atrocious teams in the leauge, with an Easy schedule. If the Jets had a schedule like yours we'd probably be in the play-offs right now, but we didn't. And I would point out, once again, that it wasn't KC but Washington that you lost agaisnt.
We are the best team in the AFC, and the best team in football. Bar none. You tell me how Carolina stacks up.
Fine, Carolina has a really really good defense. They have a defense that has the ability to make your offense look like shit. The same goes Vice Versa however, so what we've got is a true defensive super-bowl that's going to be close and interesting. Not in any way a blow out like you predicted.
And you know what's sad? NE is only sending two players to the pro bowl. Huh. Go figure.
Actually that's deserving. Bill Bellichek's defenses going a long way back have always worked on the premise of having a bunch of experienced pretty decent players who know football really really well. He then puts in a system that fits each player, and that each player can play well and then these players play real well, not because of their inate skill, but because the system fits them really really well and they bloom in it. That's why the Jets defense fell so much after the snake backstabed us like he did.

I'll take Carolina to cover but New England to win.

I just looked it up online. Vegas has New England at -7, which is too much. Hell, I had Carolina covering when the line was Patriots -5. The Colonel's fanwankery is spreading, I think.

I dunno, the panthers REALLY want this. You can see it in their eyes. that is going to play a part. IMHO, 70% of this game is how bad you want it. The patriots have that swagger about them. seem too confident. I really think we are looking at potentially a 3 point game.

That's exactly why I've picked the Panthers to cover.

That was Steve Young.

Heretic. (While I can't stand the 49ers) Joe is the man, the original comeback kid. I didn't think it was a good idea when KC picked him up, they should have kept Kragun, but even I can't deny Joe's mo-joe.

Now that New England has won by three points, is it safe to tell South Carolina to suck it?

Well, that's it for the season. Good game, Pats!

Recruiting season is over in a week, after which I must settle for Arena Football, the scrambled porn of gridiron.

Since:

1--The Panthers are located in Charlotte, NORTH CAROLINA
2--My birthplace and current home is Charlotte
3--I used to live in SOUTH Carolina as well

...I'd say no, it's not safe; that'd be like telling me to "suck it."

The Panthers gave them a good fight but simply couldn't shut the Patriot's passing game down. The Pats deserve congratulations for a hard-fought win, and I happily offer that to anyone who wouldn't try and rub the loss in my face.

That's all I gotta say about that. I'm heart-broken and think I'll retire to bed.

Before I do collapse in a quivering mass of tears, though, I gotta congratulate the Colonel on an impressive, if utterly infuriating, win ;) You picked a winner, Col.!

Brady's...something.

One thing that irritates me about Delhomme--one of "my" guys, mind you--is that he's a real black or white passer: he'll either go for something ridiculously short, or he'll just throw the dogshit outta something for a long bomb. There's rarely much in the way of middle ground.

Brady OTOM was completing passes left and right from all kinds of distances. He deserves serious respect as a quarterback, more really than he's gotten this year.

Both teams played well -- no blowout. Thus the bragging rights, while there, indicate nothing in the way of one "owning" another. Were it a blowout, then one side could readily harp, jump up and down, point, and yell, "We wasted your [insert appropriate colorful metaphor here] team, you buncha looooooooooooooosers!!!"

In tonight's game, there is no maneuver space for such action...

I so called it. Thank you, SlashDot. I read the article incorrectly, and mistakenly thought it said that the Patriots would win. So I went for the Pats, and I was right. My reading comprehension failed me, but I was still right dammit!

Damn, good fucking game though. It started off slowly, with both defenses being excellent and both offenses really just sucking, but then it quickly turned around. I was watching the game in my room, and my roommate in the living room was rooting for the Panthers. So whenever something big happened, there was always a "FUCK!" and a "YES!"
