They frequently do use such arguments! In spite of the fact that the Defiant is MUCH larger than starfighters, I have often heard that it could dodge turbolasers as easily as A-Wings. Also, Loser099 was telling everyone that the Falcon should have been utterly destroyed by a 300 gigaton blast from an ISD, even though it was clearly a light turbolaser shot. Then again, he IS Loser099, so he's really not representative of anything other than himself.
