What's your computer's average cpu temp?
Moderator: Thanas
52 degrees c, apparently, but the socket is 35.

As would I -- or even better yet, SMP Pentium M! (P6 shall never die!)The Kernel wrote:My Pentium M (the spiritual sucessor to the PIII) runs around the same temp, even in a notebook @ 1.5GHz. It's a shame that they don't market these things to the desktop crowd because I would pick one up for my desktop in a heartbeat.

Oh man, that makes me think back to the days of the BP6 and dual cellies .phongn wrote:As would I -- or even better yet, SMP Pentium M! That would be so cool it would be beyond belief. Imagine 2x Dothan+ Pentium M's with 64-bit extentions (it's coming I hear) and you have the makings of the biggest revolution in power user products in five years.

If I underclock my CPU to around ~1ghz (from 1.4) it will run stably with no active cpu cooling, only a standard heatsink. I can play whatever game with no freezing (although it might be sort of laggy). It's not a very good idea to touch the heatsink while doing this, though.

Yeah, not a few people underclock their machines precisely to do that.Seggybop wrote:Something semi-related to this thread...
