Apparently, Vympel, ARC Troopers will have HUDs in an upcoming SW computer game.
As for the new season, I'm just gratified that we see some variety in the weapons of the Clone Troopers. Finally, combined-arms fighting in the SW galaxy.

Maybe he was just rusty and needed some time to get back up to par

Whatever happened to that "shroud" that was limiting their abilities?

Seriously. Mace Windu just destroyed an army of SUPER Battle Droids with his bare hands and the Force. I must admit, though, it was pretty friggin' cool.

I loved when he just ripped all the bolts off one of them.

Mace Windu actually flew? In the air? Like Superman?
Please, for the love of God, tell me one of you guys just made that up...

It was either that, or he used a very, very ,very strong Force-augmented jump.

OKay I just watched Episode 13 and I feel I must now go with my initial question again.. how is it that Jango and the Reek lasted more than a half-second against Mace and why the hell didn't he just obliterate every battledroid in the geonosis arena?

Sorry Spanky, but Mace did a Matrix in Chapter 13. He appears to have perfected the force ability to completely defy gravity, as well as block shots coming from 1000 droids surrounding him in a CIRCLE.
While I must admit, Windu's dismantling of that entire army of Super Battledroids and the Big Droid Stomper of Doom was a pretty sight to see, it was a little bit too close to Dragon Ball-style anime super fighters taking out tens of thousands of enemies with the wave of a hand.

Seeing Windu kick ass was awesome even though admittedly it was a bit over the top. That stomper vehicle that the droid army had was pretty lame though.

Yeah, Stormtroopers have that too (see cross-section of a stormtrooper helmet in the original Visual Dictionary)- that they can't figure this out for star pilots irks me more.
Unless ... *huge supposition time*
the displays as seen in the X-Wing series (particularly X-Wing Alliance) are actually taken to be 'official', and since the canon doesn't actually show them, they may be projected on the pilot's helmet.

It was a sin that Star Wars began committing after A New Hope- in A New Hope, Stormtroopers had quite a few gun types, then in ESB and ROTJ it was all carbines, which I suppose can be explained by the context (Tatooine- desert planet, long range fighting, Hoth, CQB in the main base, Endor, self explantory). Luckily, ANH is enough to establish combined arms in the canon.

Chapter 12 & 13 was just absurd. A huge sort of hammer vehicle? WTF for? Just stupid. Please let's get back to more believable battles. Like lances. There's a point where it just gets so over the top, it's embarassing.
(is anyone else leaning towards the interpretation that as a cartoon, Clone Wars is just an extremely stylized, highly exaggerated representation via animation of significant battles of the Clone Wars, and nowhere close to actual documentary footage?)

Well, if you watched the episode, it was immune to most ground fire, could fly, albeit slowly, and cross most rough terrain, and it could create earthquake sthat could level miles and miles and disable entire armies in seconds. I'd call that a prety effective weapon, personally. The fact it survved in comming fire from thousands of clones with blasters, as well as missiles i would assume, and that it killed all Republic soliders other than Windu (cause we see none alive) in mere seconds shows it's superior in many ways to most armour see befor ein Star Wars.
And it's called a 'Seismic Hammer', BTW, or so says the website.

Question: do we see seizmic charges used at all in these cartoons, or are we given lances and giant war hammers?

Seismic hammer is still a stupid concept, if it was shielded like a capital ship its just begging people to bombard it being such a target. The same effect of that weapon can easily come from bombs/missiles.

It said on the website it's a terror weapon. Its designed to effect morale, not to capitalise on firepower. I imagine it's main purpose was against civilian targets, but it was obviously effective against troopers too. And it was shielded, otherwise the Clone fire would have obliterated it's engines and destroyed it. It killed thousand sin seconds, and it was a multi-use weapon as opposed to a single use missile or bpomb.

Well, if you watched the episode
Nah, I didn't
it was immune to most ground fire,
SPHA-Ts would take care of such a moronic vehicle handily- WELL before it ever came into range. This weapon is tailor made for a ridiculous tactical situation.

A bomb would do it much cheaper.

We seek from the first "hit" that those not immediately under the hammer got up again. That is shit. Furthermore, immunity to small arms fire is not exactly hard to do or impressive.
And it's called a 'Seismic Hammer', BTW, or so says the website.
It should be called "worst idea for a weapon ever, and we can't believe we allowed it to appear on Star Wars"

Vympel, please, it caused an earthquake felt by a person at least a mile away (the boy on the hil) and knocke dhim on his ass, anyone within range of shockwave was obvious disabled to some degree and it was shielded. It's a terror weapon, it works, and the only reason it was destroye di sbecause an uber-powerful Jedi destroye dit.
And he didnt fly at the end, he Force-jumped down off the cliff toward sthe wreckage of the Seismic Hammer. Just to debunk that 'flying' stuff from eariler.

Then explain how those clonetroopers got up the moment after impact, and proceded to fire?
It's a terror weapon, it works
Badly.
and the only reason it was destroye di sbecause an uber-powerful Jedi destroyed it
And because Mace Windu is a shitty general who somehow lost every piece of fire support he had. Again: SPHA-Ts would've carved it up like a roast.

It might as well have been flying.

Well it's good to know the cartoon's partially consistent. How're Obi-wan and co portrayed?

Obi-Wan had a hand-to-hand fight with a shapeshifting Thing-like alien bountry hunter on one episode last esason, and Skywalker is still a whiny little shit. There was an anphibious guy with dreadlocks who was a Jedi, and he too kicked much ass and destroyed many armies
