The time it gets bad is when the males start cosplaying . . . as females . . . without shaving. I've heard horror stories and seen photos.

1) What general group of fanboys do you find most . . . rabid in your past expirience?
Trekkies. And I don't mean people who enjoy the shows, I mean those who think it's all real or could be, and the science is accurate and a lot of crap like that. Oh and those who think they are actually officers of the UFP.
2) What is the single largest act of fanboy-ism that you have seen so far?
Going to work in your Federation uniform, wearing all kinds of gadgets and making everybody there refer to you as "the commander" (I saw the documentary "Trekkies" :P)
3) What circle of Fanboy-Hell (or Fanboy-Heaven, if you look at it in another way) are you in?
Hm here? More of Fanboy-neutral, since I don't advocate fanaticism... which means defending what you like at all costs even if you have to lie (which is a known principle of Trekkies, I knew the president of the ST Fan Club here and she said it quite literally)

U2 fans. Half of them seem to believe that listening to a certain band makes you a better fucking person.

Listening to "socially responsible music". What a convenent fucking shortcut to moral superiority, eh? Certainly much less work than getting out there and volunteering ...

Have you ever heard of the Fighting 501st? It's a SW organization where people MAKE their own Stormtrooper armor and go to all types of SW events. They even do community services (such as visiting hospitals and cheering up sick children) in their SW costumes all year long. Whenever you see Stormtroopers at SW conventions and at museums and whatnot, chances are that they are a part of the 501st. They go to these events even if it means leaving work. Talk about dedication, or being fanboys....take your pick. :P
