Ah, a Spaced fan, good good.

And yes, you're right, TESB is the best and not lest because 3PO finaly gets STFU. Go stormies!

ROTJ. Even though I thought all the "Father" from Luke was melodramatic, and the Ewoks were annoying, I still liked the overall plot and the battles.

I love them all, from ROTJ to TPM, each has their good areas.

Kill TPM for the script, but most scenes, were IMO, amazing.

I can't pick a favorite. Star Wars is one big movie in my mind.

If I had to choose one, I would say AOTC, I liked the action scenes
better than in the other movies. I know there is more to a film than
just action, but that is the part I like the best.
Speaking of that, I never did see why it was that in ANH, a group of
Stormtroopers, all armed, all turned and ran off down that hallway in
the Death Star simply because Solo ran toward them and shouted.
I think there must be more to it than that. I'm sure with all the SW
experts here somebody will know. Anybody feel like clearing that up?

The special edition clears that one up. They were leading Han into a trap

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!

Leia: "I love you..."
Han: "I know"

one of the greatest movies ever made.

and why wasn't the made-for-tv Ewok movie not listed as an option? Damnit WHY?

Because it was a trap, granted that the troopers could have probably taken Solo, but it was a trap to get more troopers from that small hangerbay. Notice the TIE in the backround.

actually, i always tought they did ran away in fear but were lucky to bump into that bunch of stormtroops under inspection. It was meant a comical relief

in one of the indiane jones movies, Ford did the same thing once again

Blame Akira Kurosawa...

In "The Hidden Fortress" the party of fugitives happens on a patrol, the crafty samurai charges the enemy patrol, with a great shout, and they run away, leaving his party alone while he chases after them, straight into the camp of the enemy...

it's framed really simular

of course there's the fact that the scene in the cantina is very much like a scene in Yojimbo.

TESB, though ANH will always be special to me as it was the first of them. (and AOTC has its points)

Lets all hope Ep III will be as good as TESB

ANH easily wins it for me. I remember that very first ISD flyby, and how I was amazed at its size and impressive appearance. I remember the uber-badass entrance of Darth Vader, thinking that this guy was one bad mofo, because the white troopers were all below him. I remember the sandcrawler, the Falcon's approach on the Death Star, the destruction of Alderaan, and how through each passing minute, I came to love the movie. I remember how much I laughed at Han's mad charge at the stormtroopers (and I still do today) and how I was on the edge of my seat during the Death Star battle, right until the moment of that grandiose explosion.

ANH created the myth, it made the magic. ESB may have been dark, ROTJ may have had the greatest battle and villain (Emperor), but ANH started it all.

And one of the lines in ANH is ripped straight out of The Seven Samurai ("It seems we were built to suffer. It's our lot in life." Except that it was "made", not "built" in TSS).

TESB, it's always better when the bad guys win, and the good guys are literally crushed underneath the Imperial war machine!
