In addition to most of those previously mentioned, the Boondock Saints main title ("The Blood of Cu Chulainn") was perfect. Firefly's title is good, too, and it has a tendency to grow on you when you're watching the show all day while drinking significant amounts of alcohol.

The Final Fantasy VII main theme is absolutely beautiful in its orchestral form, as well.

Aside from what has been mentioned...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Theme (I have 3 versions of it on my computer: Original, Current, and Extended)

Final Fantasy VII: One Winged Angel (Sephiroth Choir)

The Original Super Mario Brothers Theme -- I've heard it played on the piano accuratly, it was AWESOME!

The Ever Classic Godzilla Theme from back in the day and several other related themes (IE: Mothra, King Ghidorah, Rodan, Mechagodzilla, etc)

The Themes of the Universal Monster Movies (Of Note: Tarantula, The Deadly Mantis, The Monolith Monsters(which is really a retred of The Deadly Mantis theme) The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Etc)
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

Those are all good. Kevin Sorbo really screwed the pooch when he complained and got Andromeda's theme music changed to that crap they are using now.

I'd like to add "Anvil of Crom" from Conan the Barbarian

There was a TV series back in the 60s with theme music written by Manzini(the guy who wrote the pink panther). A sort of walking bass line that has been referenced a lot, in the Blues Brothers for instance.

B5-5th season-one of the few reasons I watched the 5th season at all.

Kodomo no Omocho 8) Especially the evangelion amv of it.

That's the theme to Peter Gunn.

B5 season 5. The other four were too dark for my tastes
Superman. Quite possibly the greatest movie theme of all time.
Superman TAS theme wasn't half bad
Batman (Movie and, by extension, BTAS)
Star Wars
Star Trek TNG
T1&2
Conan the Barbarian
A Team
Magnum PI
Silverado
Tropical Heat
BattleStar Galactica (the original)
Blue Thunder TV series
Der Fahnder
Angel
...to mention those that come immediately to mind.

And I'm thoroughly appalled there are people on this board who can NOT hum the James Bond theme from memory!!!
That's a bloody classic!!!

EDITed to fix typo
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Pink Panther- Henry Mancini (sp?)
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Are we talkin' best as in best music, or best as in best fitting of the character it represents?

For whatever reason, I thought of the second, which is why I still think Bond ownz all.

I can't believe there's a favourite movie theme thread and nobody's mentioned Raiders of the Lost Ark!

You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Mentioning videogames and craptacular shitfests like ID4 ahead of Indiana Jones ... :x

I think the thread's a bit too general--we're all over the map with this stuff.

And I still think Indy comes in a close second to Bond's theme. :P

Any theme music that you like the best will do. And I do mean *best*. If you're listing 150 themes, they can't all be equally good.

For me, and I'll prolly get shot for this, I say Mission Impossible or Gladiator because they inspire me more than (so far as I can think of) most, if not all, other theme music.
