It doesn't say that. All it says is that you're out of touch- for what reason, it's unknown. In all liklihood, you feel the force, you know you do, you're just not very good at it.
It just seems kind of contrived. Like you used to be badass, but now you're not.
At least in Jedi Academy you started as an inexperienced Jedi.

Depends what they do with it.
Remember, the lead designer for KOTOR II was aso the lead designer for Fallout 2 and Torment.
Pedigrees don't come much higher in the owrld of PC RPGs.

In the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, they go into more detail.
Here's a bit about classes etc...
p. 79 "Jedi classes in this game will be the same as in the last, but you'll find new Prestige classes you can choose at higher levels- Sith Lord, Sith Marauder, Sith Assassin, Jedi Master, Jedi Watchman, Jedi Weapon Master."
