The irony is razor sharp.

Speaking of which, why not ban knives as well? They did hijack a plane with paper cutters before... Idiots.
Razor sharp irony? Does that mean they're going to ban irony next? Noooooo.

On the subject of censorship, liberals who favor it seem to campaign against violence, while conservatives don't want sex. The people at the Medi Research Center are conservatives, and they don't want either. There are some liberals like that too. However, conservatives do it it for moral reasons, while liberals do it because they're sensitive.

Better yet, using the mission editor all the psychos who dare buy the game can make missions where they can massacre hundreds of civilians with no penalty whatsoever!

Yet, they take Rogue Spear off the shelves. Common sense at it's finest :P

EDIT: Wow, I'm a youngling now! Cool 8)

Icehawk wrote: Why is it considered "Liberal" to ban something? Banning and limiting things falls under the "Conservative" catagory does it not?
In American politics the term 'liberal' does not mean what it does in other countries. In the US, 'liberal' is a shorthand for unamerican, immoral, wrong, and evil. People who are at or right of the center in US politics will accuse everyone who does anything they disagree with of being 'liberal.'

Idiots.

Did they ban Hitman 2?
Did they ban UnrealTournament? That game has a sniper rifle too.

PS. Wal-Mart still sells actual rifles. Think about the irony of pulling videogames off the shelf if they contain rifles, while continuing to sell the actual rifles themselves.
I tend to think of it more as another example of Corporate Hypocrisy in the pursuit of free advertising ("Wal-Mart does the right thing: pulls violent video games.")

As to the guns, they know the economics. K-Mart used to be one of the...THE, biggest suppliers of hunting ammo in the United States. It was an incredibly profitable buisness that they essentially abandoned, look where they are.

And they have still banned Sheryl Crow for complaining about the availability of Handguns and Hunting Rigles at Walmarts.

Certainly she's much more dangerous than a computer game which involves, as its main plotline, the robbing of vehicles and the deaths of many. Certainly we shoudl ban lyrics referencing sex before we should take away knives and guides for skinning animals in the field.

They only put warning lables on those songs, or try to ban them.

Although I find it funny that they have a warning label on the album which has a song about an abused wife murdering her husband (Dixie Chicks), and still no warnings on the Rolling Stones Hot Rocks vol. I, which includes: Canabalism (Let it Bleed), Serial Killers, Rape, Murder (Gimmie Shelter, Midnight Rambler), Child Prostitution (Brown Sugar, Stray Cat Blues)hmmmm
