Yup. 3 Star Destroyers exited hyperspace and rammed Executor at what would basically be point blank range.

Executor SURVIVED, lost shields, needed light repairs over all, and moderate repairs to the hyperdrive.

In other words, it basically stalled Executor for a few weeks.

Say it with me

IIRC The Shockwave from Darksaber *shudders* was larger than a ISD, not sure if it approached the size of a Executor but i do remember that it could pop Vivc with one salvo.

Does it need to be a warship? The Loronar FSCVs from the Imperial Sourcebook are 800 meters per forcefield containment sphere, and it's not uncommon to see trains of 20 or more. That would give you 16+ km trains.

No, given that the Warlords regard Knight Hammer with such awe I highly doubt it was any where near approaching a Executor-class. It's more likely it was one of the various battlecruisers shown.

What about those ships from the end of the Starcave of the Thonblonka(sp), I think they were 50km long, though it could have been 5.

As wanky as it is, I could totally see Palpatine ordering one built. I mean, come on, Palpy did pretty much have Manji syndrome.

Err, why couldn't he just have used a Death Star for that?

The Imperium-class is far more efficient for the purpose of extragalatic conquest. It supposedly has cloning facilities, docked ISD's, a mini-shipyard, mini-World Devestator, etc. The Death Star is basically a big ray gun meant for blowing up planets.

The Imperium, also, is much more majestic and terrifying than big ball with a gun made on to it, like teh Death Star. Now, one can argue the Death Star is more effective as a terror weapon, cosidering it's kinda unassailable (except by poorly trained farmboys turned fighter pilots, of course  ) but it's not an effect projection of majesty and power. The Imperium would be.

And as stated, the Imperium includes cloning facilities, wold devestators, ISD/SSD docks and would be more effective as a multi-faceted command ship than a peice of mobile space artilery.

You think the DS2 is just a mobile ray gun?! It's a mobile fortress. It could just be like the Imperium if you cut off some space and put in cloning facilities, world devastators and docks. And that could be arranged, if it were practical. A DS2 is not a mobile ray gun, it's so much more. That Hutt Star is a mobile planet busting ray gun.

It could be all those things, but it was never set up, nor even designed for that purpose. The DS2 was the ultimate symbol of Imperial power, but I gotta say that whoever justified it to the Imperial Military Budget Comittee (twice!) pulled off one hell of a coup. That thing has to be the single worst investment I've ever heard of in a galaxy that has been totally conquered already and the largest threat is from terrorist groups like the Rebels against which such a superweapon would have no purpose.

At least the Imperium would be highly practical for its intended purpose: it is meant as a single instrument to use for conquest of neighboring galaxies. One Death Star (using standard equipment) could not conquer and hold the Star Trek Milky Way for example, but an Imperium could. To me, its a device with so much more potential.

All those TLs... imagine how quickly it could do a BDZ.

Heh, it could probably crack the planet in half after a few minutes.

Seeing the ship it seems that it has a superlaser on the front, that dome could be retractable showing the superlaser emiter.

Imagines turbolasers the size of victory star destroyers.

What about the Vong's Worldships? Or that super ship of theirs that looks like a spiral galaxy, in the most recent guide to vessels...

It was a Black Project; it was developed and financed without the toadie Imperial Senate's cooperation.

Oh, and the Death Star was a forerunner to massive weapons for use in the conquest of the Unknown Regions' few enclaves of power and eventually other galaxies. Additionally, it was to facilitate the gradual evolution of the Empire into a quasi-feudal state ruled by Imperial military officers (Moffs) with complete impunity, which could counterpoint the loss of local political autonomy with the Senate disbanding with ease; no shielded world could even defend against it. Similarly, the strategic forces of the Imperial Navy were aimed at quelling mutinies by Moffs and Admirals, or attempted revolutions by large groups of Imperial officials or politicians.

Which is why they could strip it down into the Darksabre and it still could've done that...oh wait...

Hey, the Darksaber would have probably worked just fine if it hadn't been built by a bunch of mindless slaves that halted work to look at something pretty every couple minutes.

Not to mention the Hutts cut corners and bought substandard material.

Which is exactly my point; the assertion that the Death Star is merely a mobile siege gun is refuted by the fact that the stripped-down version, the Darksabre, would've sufficed just fine.
