That reply basically says that you did put an illegal warez file in a sharing program but were too stupid to know it, so you can be forgiven.

But that hurts the loser more if the loser is some low-income person who can't afford high-profile lawyers (unlike the corporations)...

If a corp takes the time to drop the hammer on somebody, they're pretty much shafted up one side and down the other already. Beyond a certain point, how shafted you are becomes little more than a way to keep score.
