Well, this completely blows the concept that hyperspace mass generator technology was not developed by the time of the Outbound Flight. I guess I can just use my original idea for my fanfic... sigh... all these damned changes.

Ir it has four shuch groups in various ocations of the ship. Read the text entry, it specifies TL batteries, which implies groups of barrels :)

Could they have simply changed the ships name to Leviathan? I mean there was the energy draining field in the Rakatan home system so the origional could have been lost.

They DID show what Republic ships look like in the game and on the beach you did see the remains of a command ship in the water.

Carth served on that ship and could remember the layout of it.

Its so strange to see such a piece of braindead galactic minimalism ('pride of the Republic', etc) at the same time as a sensible retcon ('grav wells not invented by Empire'). These guys are turkeys.

Frankly, I always thought the whole 'interdictors being new' suggestion was ridiculous. Given the nature of their technology, the jump from tractors to interdictors is small, and the reintroduction of area-defence interdictors was probably prompted by hyperdrive capable rebel fighters doing hit and fades. Bah, I say, Bah!

Incidentally, the design of the Leviathan is an example of Trek-esque style-over-substance artsy bullshit. It is braindead for a warship.
