But anyway, about the only worlds I can write in are a modern or future Earth, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, Ravenloft, Faerun... we could make our own world?
Point taken, the impulse was irresistable however. I'll exert more self control. :D

Yeah, if we're going to do this we need to settle some ground rules such as setting and order and length. I don't want to write HUGE chapters. (Star Crossed has me totally booked on that end) We should have a pow wow and get this all under control so we can start. I have a feeling this is goign to be pretty fun.

I have already decided to stop doing that in all forums (except maybe the BOTM, where I post a lot less). But I can't really do any known worlds (except, maybe, Ender's Game), so I'd say we create our own world, but even any universe would be nice. I know this is babbling, but I hope you get what I am trying to say.

You mean our own world, not necessarily Earth.

We could do a "post-apocolyptic" type Earth, maybe something similar to Cowboy Bebop where the rest of the planets have been colonized and the Earth really isn't good for living on. You know, the typical anime type Earth. At least this way we can use city names we know and such.

True. I think, however, that maybe a post-apocalyptic Earth story that still takes place on Earth. With all kinds of mutated thingies would be interesting. Thoughts?

A hot war would be more fun, and would explain much of the distruction.

I'm envisioning a pretty well blasted world, where full-scale warfare's been cast aside, and only small-scale 'brush wars' are taking place along the edges of the nation-states.

Sounds like an idea to me....and distorted/new religions ()...THis came to me while I remembered a series of books I started reading (I can't find them, nor do I remember the name).

But I like that idea.

Hmmm...I'm getting a "Judge Dredd" kind of feel here, techwise.

I dunno who Judge Dredd is (don't hurt me), but I think not too far advanced form what we have here....maybe not too far into the future, methinks...just a couple hundred years, or so.

Robots, hovercycles/cars, Aliens-style guns.

Anyone ever watched the movie Final Fantasy? Not to emulate it completely, but our world could be sort of like that maybe, except that wars destroyed much of organized civilization and now there's only small "villages" scattered throughout the continents.

*sigh* I've never played nor watched that movie/game. I'm pathetic, am I not?

And how often should we have a turnaround? Every few days? a week?

As it is, we have a lucky 13...but if some want to drop out, that is fine....but I suggest not adding anyone else.

Count me in, but I would prefer to follow someone else's lead in this.

I would like to take this time announce that I have to drop out of the collective story endeavour. Real Life(TM) struck again, and I won't have as much free time until at least december.

It really sucks that I can't get into this, but yeah, I have to drop out. Just wanted to let everyone here know.
