I like the first better too, which is why I use that one.
It makes sense, though. Do you really think Palpatine would let Mon Mothma run off with his daughter?

...I believe the Emperor would refuse to part with anything important to him. How sad that he lsot is life to Carnor Jax's betrayal...but I'm afraid that I must take my leave...*bows...fare thee well M'lady...Heir of Palpatine.

There is a scene with Sidious on a throne or a large command chair on a stage, like in RotJ. He stands up and walks down. As reaches the lower floor and walks across, there are a few people behind him. Somone descernable to Zaarin, Zsinj, and Thrawn. Royal Guards behind him. There. Thrawn would be in the trilogy, along with Zsinj and Zaarin and thousands of snot nosed brats and pricks would be satisfied.
Personally I'd love to see Lucas take a big pile of EU books and piss on them and then light them on fire. It would be pretty cool to see Thrawn in there though. I'll give you that much. He's just that cool, evil guy.

Thrawn's not evil. He was just allied with the Emperor because it suited his own ends. Don't ever suggest that he's evil!
Working for the Empire does not necessarily make you evil. Next I know, you'll be wandering around claiming Pellaeon is evil, despite the fact that his actions led to the end of the war.

In the EU's depiction of the Empire, and since that's were Palleon was from, he's not evil. He's overly honourable, and believes the Empire brings stability to the galaxy. And, yes Thrawn is evil. Re-read the Thrawn trilogy. FYI, Lucas likes black and white. Rebels good, Empire evil. nuff said.

Thrawn once said: "I am not reckless with my men, and I do not take their deaths lightly, unlike Lord Vader."
He's not evil.

Tell that to Leia, tell that to the Solo twins, tell that to Luke, tell that to the Noghri...I rest my case.

It'd be just too damn disrupting and against the main continuity.
I agree, just thinking of EU infiltration gives me the shivers. GL is waaaaaayyy better than Zhan when it comes to storylines. Directing, on the other hand......

Thrawn only tired to kidnap the Solo trins to keep Joruus C'Boath in line. Had ha a decent Force user to use, then I garuntee you he would have gotten rid of C'Boath quick smart.
I'll also reiterate IG-88E's point - he did not take his men's dsaths lightly, and when he did take control of a planet, he did not oppress it. He actually used all of his psychological warfare to avoid ground battles, which would have been lengthy and caused an unnecessary loss of life, didn't increase the taxes that planet was giving, and he didn't expect them to put their all into the war effort for him.
These are not the actions of an evil man.
Sure the rebels talked about "the depravations of Grand Admiral Thrawn" during the rest of the EU, but that was mainly due to Rebel propaganda. Pellaeon revered him almost as a god, and believed that Thrawn's main agenda was the well being of the galaxy. Now, who would you trust more? THe man who knew Thrawn the best, or the Rebels, who knew pretty much squat about him?

He's such a good guy, that he will just give two infants over to an insane clone of some long lost Jedi. BTW, Thrawn was a tactical GENIUS, which I am sure you will agree with there. The loss of life was because they could not just despense with what they have. In fact Thrawn mentions that he outright told the Emperor he would not waste his resources. He just has damn good managment skills. Thrawn, is evil. The Empire is evil. Palleon is just honourable and confused.

Would you let two babies live with someone who wasn't necessarily a suitable parent if you believed that it would benefit millions of planets, with populations often ranging in the tens of billions?
Really, I think you're the one with the warped priorities, not Thrawn.
ANd need I mention that children have been used in this manner all thorough human history. Would you call the medieval kings and queens evil because they used their children as bargaining pieces when striking alliances, etc.?
I probably wouldn't do what Thrawn did, but then again, I don't know all that Thrawn knew. Perhaps if I did, I would have done exactly what he did. ANd just because I wouldn't do it, and think that the way he tried to take Leia's children was wrong, doesn't mean that Thrawn is evil.

Hmm, I like the Idea of Thrawn making a Guest Appearance,
It would be... fun.

I think we are overlooking the third possbility
First Thrawn is not evil, nor is he is good
He IS and simply that
He uses every possbile trick to avoid non-comtatants casulites, But he will do anything to achive his stated goal of defeating the illegle uprising movement aginst a legitmate goverment
If a Crazy Jedi two kids a lady and a fellow trained jedi to amuse him so be it, If that Crazy Jedi wants to drink the blood of virguns and rap boys I think not,
Thrawn has his limits of ruthleslness
And thirdly there where many times where Thrawn could have done *Evil things but held back, Sure he has done them but he's not THAT evil, Nor is he that good
He does what needs to be done to get the job done and not a bit more
Besides having Thrawn around does NOT screw up contituity, He was alive then, He was tasked with Destroying the Out-bound project, A project thats started just before the Clone Wars which have not acutal started yet

Like Lusankya said, he'd give the kids to C'boath for a better cause...the Empire.
As for the Noghri...well think about this, you have two options:
1. Keep the Jedi family busy with disposable assassins who have pledged you their loyalty.
2. Let the Jedi rampage undistracted through your forces.
Tough, huh?

Oh yes, also add.
"Yes it was a most successfull attack, while the destruction of six battlefleets was a minor thing, only 10.000 Destroyers and 100.000 minor combat ships, the retaking of Ukio was of upmost importance for the Republics continued war effort."
Something like that

Noghri weren't sent after Luke when they KNEW he was on the planet they had set up for the fake clone route.
He didn't need the Noghri for that. In fact, he had KEPT them in enslavement. He threatened to wipe out thier race if they didn't obey him. Thrawn was evil.

Not to mention that poor tractor beam operator he ruthlessly had murdered in front of his men just to set an example. It wasn't even the operator's fault; it was his lack of training.

From what i read of "Fall of the Republic" which was the original tittle of the 3rd part of Lucas' SW saga when he wrote the whole thing out in the mid 1970's that one seems like a really good story arc and Lucas should use it. if anyone wants to read it email me at
CORSECR9@aol.com and leave some kind of subject so i know its somebody from this forum. Plus there are scenes in the Fall of the Republic that i can picuture the current actors of the prequel series in. For example theres a scene which Obi Wan comes running through the halls of the Jedi Temple finding all dead Jedi. I can actually see Ewen McGregor there.

Screw all this.
BDZ Naboo (with Jar-Jar on it, of course) with a fleet of Acclamators. Then have a new ISD come by and blow the crap out of all of them, thus demonstrating canonically that an ISD is far more powerful than an Acclamator and bridging the tech. gap between the prequels and the original trilogy quite nicely.

Dude, "Fall of the Republic" is a famous piece of fan fiction written in 1985 and sold at conventions. All it is, is someone taking drafts 1, 2, and 3 of Lucas' Star Wars saga (available everywhere online) and mixing them together with a healthy dose of speculation.

THE CHISS CONQUEST
You know you love it, GL take it from me, by the sounds of this crowd EPIII should drop the whole anakin/padme deal, and focus totaly on the chiss, and our main man thrawn, and as Mr.Bean noted, especially when he destoys the OutBound Project. Come on we all would just fall head over heels for everybody favorite tactical genious, as he starts at his humble begginings and rises to become the coolest imperial commander, or shoudl i say grand admiral, in all or SW history.
I demand that at least a little bit of thrawn be in Ep III, although i know GL never seemed to be a fan of implementing the EU into his movies, thats ok theres a first time for eveything.
I know i sure would love to see the almighty Chiss invade the republic and crush them under there mighty brain power, and get locked in battle with the newly formed Empire! Sure it would crush the continuity, who cares! Thrawn can do ANYTHING he darn well pleases even GL can stop him!
KIck ass idea
10 Problems:
1.The other SW movies Have followed the Sky walker Blood line
2. GL is to much of an ass hole to put the Chiss in the movies
3. This movie links them all. so he almost couldn't change the story line now he needed to do it earlier like ep 1
4. Anikan will be included for the 1 reason that he is related to Luke.
5. No one knows if he's fucked padme' yet
6. some assholes want to see Luke & liea be born
7.How could the Chiss take over if the Empire is in rule in the next movie
8. Grand Admril Thrawn ( the best person ( non-human) in all the star wars univeres) is the only Chiss in the Empire
9.Luke
10. the Skywalker Blood line
I'm all for the Idea of THE CHISS CONQUEST
But it's almost impossible
I said
