I don't know if this is correct but on the bridge of my glasses there are numbers printed there which read 42 19 with a box in between the numbers. I think that means my laft eye is 42 and my right eye is 19. Sounds a little extreme but I'll give you an idea of how much I can see...

If I sit in my computer chair and take off my glasses I can't read the words on the screen, I have to bring my head forward so I'm about a foot and a half from the screen. My eyes are bad :(

My vision is horrific, 20/200 in both eyes. I can't live without my glasses or contacts.

Actually that's the size of your frame. the 42 is how wide each side is in mm and the 19 is the length of the bridge in mm.

20/250 in both eyes. However it has gotten worse in the last three years, and I havent had my eyes checked.

The last time I heard a number for my vision was in elementary school. Back then it was 20/200, and it's only ever gotten worse since then. Probably 20/250 or worse now.

Around -2.00 to -2.75 for right eye, -3.25 for left. I need glasses if I want to make out any details, but I could cope without them iin a pinch.

20-200. I can't see five feet in front of my face without my glasses

FYI: Legally blind is considered to be 20/200, meaning someone with normal vision can see something fine 200 feet away while you have to be 20 feet away to see it OR you have to be 2 feet away to see it while they only have to be 20 feet away (away from an eye chart that is).

Acording to this site:

http://www.allaboutvision.com/visionsurgery/cost.htm

The average price for lasik eye surgery is from $1600 to $1800 USD. IntraLasik, which uses a laser instead, costs an average $288 more per eye.

Think I'll give this to myself as an X-mas gift some day.

Left eye: 20-35
Right eye:20-20

My left eye is probably worse because this one idiot kid in 6th grade kept trying to shine his laser pointer directly in my eye.

About 20/150 for both eyes, last time I checked. Thankfully, I don't have to be twenty feet away from the screen when I play games, otherwise I'd be in trouble.

20/460 in one of them... Astigmatism in both of them, and one has gotten lazy, focusing below the other.

Ahh thanks :) I thought I was wrong cause otherwise I would be able to see properly out of my right eye... Thanks for the explanation. I have no idea what my prescription is then, I never really paid that close attention to the eye doctor, if he ever told me. I've been wearing glasses since grade 7.

As for Laser Eye sugery... my sister got that done a few years ago, and has had to go through 4 surgeries to correct her eyes. They are perfect vision now but I don't think I would pay that much to have to go through all that hassel. I might change my mind later in life if we become some rich family or something... I don't know.

I once had horrible -4.5 eyes, but now thanks to the greatness of LASIK surgery, I have perfect 20/10 vision in both eyes. Best $5k I ever spent.

Eyes are both around 20/30, left one seems more farsighted and the other near. They used to both be 20/20 but using bad screens at the wrong distance for the last 10 years has degraded it I guess. I'm sure they'll both be fine unaided until mecha eyes are widely available.

Oh what a bunch of crybabies. I can't even see the big letter "E" on the chart anymore.

Left Eye: -9.00
Right Eye: -8.50

-5.50

Or something like that. Can't tell you for sure cuz I tossed the conact boxes a while ago.

Last time I remember being -3/-3.25

Not horribly bad...but without glasses...not that good either.

My prescription is -0.25, -0.5. I only use glasses for driving at night (they have an anti-glare coating, which I find helpful), but I really only got the glasses so I could get the additional free pair of prescription polarized sunglasses. Ah, the benefits of having...benefits.

Very good vision- I can read licesnse plates at 50m. I guess staring at a monitor hasn't wrecked me yet.

I have to get new glasses every year/two years. I stopped keeping up with my prescription (too depressing) when I had 20/500 vision in my right eye and 20/450 vision in my left (since then my left eye has weaked faster and has caught up with my right eye). That was three pairs ago, I believe. If I squint I can make out the giant E at the top. Nearsighted AND astigmatic AND both my parents wore glasses as did their parents. I think I'm just going to have to genetically engineer my kids.
