C'mon strippers for the most part aren't that great looking. If they were they would be doing porn or modelling.

The Omnimax at the Carnegie is indeed showing Attack of the Clones through the 31st of December on weekends. I know this because I used to work there and still know people who get me into shows for free, AotC included. :D

For the most part I'd have to agree. Most strip joints I've been to will have 1 or 2 hot stripper per night if they're lucky, and the rest of them are semi-ugly. Whiskey's however is a nudie bar with nothing but hot strippers, one after the other, it's incredible, and they do lesbian acts too. Hot lesbian action!

Relax, Ted. Stripper joints are fun for the first fifteen minutes, then it gets kind of boring. Even if the woman is hot, you're still sitting in a room with a guy:girl ratio of about 50 to 1, and you're physically a lot closer to the guys than you are to the girls. Not cool.

Plus, the beer is overpriced and there's often a door charge. And it's not as if you're going to be able to touch any of these ladies. The only reason to go to a stripper bar is to have a night out with your friends and get a little thrill at the same time. Guys sitting in stripper bars by themselves are kind of creepy IMHO. If I'm by myself, I'm gonna go home and be with my wife.

With the fact that I've never been one, they've got a kind of exotic attraction. But, meh, I'll always go later, probably like 19th b-day or somesuch.

I have no clue what the Tech IMAX is. The IMAX in my city is at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center, and in fact it's probably less than ten miles from my house. btw, the Saturn V rocket they have standing is bad ass and you can see it from most places in the city.

It will quickly lose it's exotic attraction. A bunch of friends and I went to a place in Pittsburgh called Club Elite, which is actually really upscale, for a post-birthday present for one of the guys. It was the first time I went to one. I don't know whether movies once again have lied to me or that Pittsburgh just has really crappy strip clubs, but the combination of the powerfully drunk horny guys, the overpriced food and drink (three dollars for nachos!), and the fact the reason the place are so poorly lit with pulsing lights is to disguise the fact that the women aren't all that sexy. We went in, got him his lapdance, and came to the conclusion that the general aura of nakedness in the place wasn't worth it. We actually had a better time in the car ride back to his apartment, discussing how exactly to cook up a phony nude modelling shoot so we could have actually attractive, but not too bright, woman pose for us in decent light.

I had a stripper fall off of the runway on top of me. :)

It does get a little boring to just sit and gawk. Get a lap dance or a rub n' tug next time.

I saw AotC on the IMAX screen yesterday with the folks, which is why I came home this weekend. :)

Before seeing AotC, though, we saw/experienced a tour of the international space station in 3D on the IMAX screen, which was positively awesome.

I went to the IMAX at Navy Pier, and one of their speakers either had corroded connections or was just fucked up, because on the crescendos, I heard major scratching. It was like listening to a 96kbps MP3 on my G4's built-in speaker. To be honest, I wasn't too impressed with the sound. I was expecting it to be much louder. The bass was okay, not up to par though, and the treble just blew.

The picture quality was very good, and the fact that I could observe the more minute details more easily was just awesome. The picture alone was worth it. Bad sound really does fuck up a theatre experience, though. By virtue of being on a big fucking IMAX screen, the picture wasn't 16x9, but it was cropped. Not quite as much as a 4:3 conversion, but still noticeably. Although, I noticed that the top few feet of the screen went unused to allow for a bit more width on the sides. To be honest, though, I thought that the picture was better when I saw it on a digital projector. Sorry, but it was. :)

I thought that the cuts, overall, made the movie much better. However, I thought that cutting the scene where Palpatine suggests Anakin and Obi-Wan be assigned to protect Amidala was a bad decision. Similarly, so was cutting the introductory scene with Clieg, Owen and Beru. It just leaves you sitting there going, "Who the fuck are these people?" Almost all the other cuts were good decisions, though. I do think that they should have cut more of C-3PO's stuff in the arena battle out, though. The scene with Anakin and Padme in the garage ("Hold me! I'm a mass murdering sociopath!") flowed much better with Anakin's "I'm good at fixing things" shit cut out. Just goes to show you how cutting out a few lines of dialogue can drastically improve a scene. There were many examples of this throughout the IMAX version: little cuts that most people wouldn't notice that made the film better. I didn't even notice the meadow scene's absence, which goes to show you it was a very good decision.
