It could easily be interpreted the other way, though...remember, Han's a gambler, at least semi-professional (it's how he acquired the Falcon). He understands the art of the bluff, and knows that being business-like can often be the best way to bullshit someone. If you sound competent, they assume you are competent.

That's true, and a good point. I can only point out that they were "in a rush, so if you'll just get on board, we'll get out of here," so he might not be interested in impressing "tourists" at that point.
