Got any info on this? First I heard of it.
In no real order:
1. Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight
2. Star Wars Rebellion
3. X-Wing
4. TIE Fighter
5. X-Wing Alliance
I love JK, and I still do. Haven't met an FPS game I like better yet (although to be totally honest I never looked all
that hard, but even while Rainbow Six is fun, it's no JK, IMNSHO).

-Jedi Knight series

1)Jedi Knight 2
2)XWA
3)XW-Balance of Power pack
4)Rebellion
Poor Rebellion. The premise was great, the execution was poor. Had to give it credit for trying out a 3d battlespace, but the interface was a nightmare. I've always hoped a group of programmers or modders tore that thing apart and gave it a nicer interface and a few tweaks (hyperspace not taking forever for instance). For all that its always got a spot on the PC, I just love to be imperial: Oh, look. Your sliding towards neutrality, here, have a large amount of troops, now be shush!
Never got TieFighter to work on my pc...it appears Im missing out on something glorious too

TIE Fighter.
IIRC, Totally Games had a falling-out with Lucasarts, hence the cessation of the SW space combat sim series.

RogueIce,
Flight of the Falcon is a GBA game, that takes you through the OT.
You start as the Falcon, vs TIEs, then you drive Luke's speeder on the way to the space station. There are 3 or 4 levels for each OT film.
While called Flight of the Falcon, you are not always piloting the Falcon,
in fact, my fav part is the X wing trench run during the ANH part of the
game.
While I give it a thumbs up, I am surprised I am the only one who
has mentioned it. I am not surprised that Clone Wars has gotten only
one vote as of yet. That game was lousy IMO.

My first SW game was X Wing. I never got TIE Fighter....which, now that i look back on it, sucks ass. But still, Xwing was tight.
I have to list XWvTF, because that was the first game I ever played online (well, besides an unknown game called netrek, which RULED) and got me started in online fleets and clans about 7 years ago.
I'll always have a special place for the original Rogue Squadron for N64. I played that game so many times trying to get all gold medals. I don't know why, but the Columbine Massacre and that game are kinda linked together in my mind. I lived in Jefferson County about 20 miles from Columbine (before I moved to Indiana), and after hours and hours of watching Columbine coverage for a week straight I would always escape to my basement to play Rogue Squadron to get away from it all. Kinda weird but...ya
Jump to Lightspeed and Star Wars Galaxies too

I know that these games aren't very...err...popular around here, but I'm having a lot of fun with em. JTL is *very* sweet, reminds me of XWvTF

There is RebEd floating around. You can at least deal with the hyperspace times in that, as well as mess with other ship settings.
SWRebellion.com (SWR) has RebEd available for download, as well as other mods that can change the textures and such in the tactical mode. If you want
real new ships (or better looking originals) this is a good place to go. The site and, most importantly, forums are still active as well. Which is good for an old game like this.
I don't know about altering the interfaces at all, but this stuff can make for an (almost) new game, in a way.

The idea of a SW strategy game set during the OT is intrigueing (sp?).
I played it. Finished it even. But I had to really push myself to do it. Horrible graphics (of all things, they even got the color of an ISD wrong), clumsy and
very annoying interface (like they
wanted to piss you off) and a not-so-very-good spacebattles (doesnt matter what tactics you might use, more and better ships = certain victory no matter what) vs a SW space strategy game.
Only if your fan of SW AND that type of games

TIE Fighter for sure, with X-Wing a close second.

X-Wing Alliance. Not only is it my favorite SW game, I'd rate it maybe second or third on my list of fav games period, hanging around with Spider-Man 2 (for console) and Starfleet Command. It is flat out the best flight sim ever made.

KOTOR is definitely the top. I play it all the time, and its re-play value has been tremendous for me (despite having explored every single plot; I just love trying different character variations).
TIE Fighter is right behind it, for reasons already cited in the thread.
XWA is probably third for me.
Rebellion after that.

Huh? The ISDs had two different colors depending on which type you were using (as did the VSDs). This was so you could tell the difference between the two in Tactical. IIRC, the Mark Is were white, and the Mark IIs were a dark blue.

White and darkish gray. And yes, if it wasn't for that, you'd never be able to tell them apart. And the tactical ship-battles sucked, but the strategic part was fine.

I'm an old TIE fighter vet. I tried KOTOR, but I grew tired of it quickly, and switched to Hitman: Contracts.
