Are you talking about the bullshit about Microsoft being a monopoly because they give away free software in PCs? Or something else? You do pay for it when you buy a computer unless you explicitly tell the people you are buying from that you don't want/need windows.

Yes you can change it later, but it is still a major infringement of corporate laws.

Also, keep in mind that they have bought out enough of the fucking US government to get the anti-trust cases thrown out AND to have it made illegal to sue Microsoft in a similar fashion again.

Bull. Bill Gates doesn't need PR. At this point he doesn't even need advertising. Obviously he doesn't need all that money for himself and his family, but some people are greedy and/or stupid about money, make millions/billions/whatever dollars and end up bankrupt because they were careless with it. *hears faint whisper of an M.C. Hammer song* He could just hoard it for his unborn grandchildren's grandchildren...

Besides, no matter how he obtained his money, it's legally his now, he could keep every penny if he wanted to, and I think it fucking kicks ass that he isn't and is giving it away instead. His money in the right hands can help so many people.
