TV CG is really quite poor when it's used for everything. To make it look good requires the number of episodes to be reduced for production time.

I'm just hoping it wont look like any of the WB cartoons, or some stuff on Cartoon Network. Some is just garbage, animation-wise.
I'm thinking something like Blue Sub #6, where you have CGI Acclamators and cartoon troops. I like that combo.
I would hope for something similar to the Starship Troopers cartoon. That one was good, IMHO.

Anything in it that doesn't contradict canon (read: films) becomes usable in the debates.

Maybe it would be cool if they hired the animators from Super Sumos...

Update from The Force.Net:
Update on Clone War Animated Series
Thu, Nov 14, 02 07:58:21 PM EST

You may have seen the report on AICN about an animated series based on the Clone Wars being in the works between Lucasfilm and the Cartoon Network. Our independent sources checked into this rumor and confirmed that it is, in fact, true. Our source was able to add a little bit more info to AICN's report. It turns out that Lucasfilm created a pilot episode of the series and took it to the Cartoon Network recently for a pitch meeting. Our source was not yet able to find out who created the pilot episode, find out who wrote it, or find out what the Cartoon Network's response to the meeting was.
Now we venture into our own personal speculation. If Lucasfilm created the pilot episode in-house, that would indicate it was most likely computer animated. So could we expect this Clone War series to be entirely CG? Possibly. More to come....
Interesting.

But I still really hope it isn't going to be CG.

I wouldn't like it as much were it all CG. I stick with my above statement of mixed CG vehicles/ships and cartoon characters.

But if it ends up looking like Transformers Armada I'm gonna fucking kill myself.

God damn it, that animation is for shit.

I want each episode to be one hour, and cover a different aspect of the clone military. From officers, to Non-comms, to doctors, to rank-and-file troops, each would show a different perspective of the war. I think it would be an excellent and effective way of bringing the saga together, and personalizing it as a whole.

Somehow I think it'll be more about the Jedi...just seems that Lucas likes to focus on main characters and not the average schmuck. lol

I really hope it' not one of those cartoons where everybody's shooting but nobody is ever actually hit.

That would suck.

Depends if it's made for kids or teens.

If for kids we may indeed get GI JOE part 2

Still I always did love that part of the comedy of JOE...but it wouldn't work too well here.

Well, it'd be kinda kitchy to have a GI Joe-ish segment at the end of each episode.

I can imagine watching clone troopers telling kids to obay traffic signals and what to do if there's a fire.

"Now we know!"
"And knowing is half the battle."

So, what'd they teach then? The best way to rip out someones heart and hold it up to them before they die?
stuff like that?

No, stuff like obaying traffic signals and what to do in case of a fire.

I'd be really kitchy, and kind of cute.

Kid 1: Hey! Lets go in that abandoned building!
Kid 2: I don't know looks kinda dangerous.
Kid 1: What are you, chicken?
::Off Screen Voice:: I Think you should listen to your freind

Kid 1 and Kid 2: TK 54975! What are you doing here!
TK 54975: You should never enter a buidling when you dont know whats in there. Thats why we have THERMAL DETENATORS(tmHasbroinc.) One of these in the right spot will get rid of any dangers pests, rusty nails, animals, hobos, or over zelotous fundies that may be hazardous to your health. And if the building collapses, it wasn't worth going in anyway.
Kid 1 and Kid 2: Now we know!
TK 54975: And knowing is half the Battle. The other have is pure ballz and blasters.

Existence of series confirmed; most likely to be CG (I would have preferred animation, but oh well).

All we have to do is hopw for the best. I would have prefered if tehy made it in the style of a silent film.

(Clonetroopers fight in black and white, while a piano plays in the background. Then a black screen come up that says "Aaaahhhh!")
