That's one that isn't bugging me yet. It's okay I guess.

Hey, I like that song!Zaia wrote:The Final Countdown" by Europe
Oopss, I didn't read the thread title so carefully, missing the "crap" part. I don't think Fatboy Slim is crap either, but their songs *are* catchy. See, having "Ya Mama" played over and over while catching up with the deadline....Singular Quartet wrote:Hey, Fatboy Slim is good. And I don't get exposed to any of this crap because I only listen to about three stations.Kreshna Aryaguna Nurzaman wrote:Oh, and anything from Fatboy Slim.
Right about now
The funk soul brother
Check it out now
The funk soul brother
(The Rockafella Skank)
fatboy slim is fucking in heaven
fatboy slim is fucking in heaven
fatboy slim is fucking in heaven
fucking in, fucking in, fucking in heaven
(Fucking in Heaven)
And don't forget Ya Mama.
I like that song too! So much so, in fact, that the director of the Johns Hopkins wind ensemble said he's going to start the tradition of playing it at the end of every wind ensemble concert so that I'll play with them forever. It's a staple in our pep band repertoire, and my friend Mike had it as his ringtone on my behalf (because it wasn't available for my phone) too. My love for that song is probably rather unhealthy.Oni Koneko Damien wrote:Hey, I like that song!Zaia wrote:The Final Countdown" by Europe
Come on, just give yourself a mental recording of that synthesizer opening. You know you want to.
*laughs sadistically as the sound gets permanently stuck in the head of everyone who has ever heard that song before*
Doo-dee-doo-doo, doo-dee-doo-doo-doo, doo-dee-doo-doo, doo-dee-doo-doo-doo.

Bah, it's a perfectly acceptable peice of psuedo-punk pop. I liked it from the start and it's only grown.Mrs. CmdrWilkens wrote:How could I have forgotten that one? Both the local stations in DC and my Launchcast are playing it non-stop! I didn't like it when I first heard it, but its grown on me (unfortunately).Stormbringer wrote:Not strictly a crap song, but Somebody Told Me by The Killers. Good catchy pop-rock.
My pep band director really likes that song too, for some unknown reason. I don't mind playing it so much, as since I'm not a brass player, my part is easy. The actual song...mehZaia wrote:I like that song too! So you're ok with a guy singing about how his ex-girlfriend is dating a guy that looks like a different girlfriend of the singing guy? I find it kind of annoying. I like "Mr. Brightside" a lot more.Stormbringer wrote:Bah, it's a perfectly acceptable peice of psuedo-punk pop. I liked it from the start and it's only grown.
I play baritone in pep band, so I get to rock out with the bass part. I LOVE it, all versions of it.Mrs. CmdrWilkens wrote:My pep band director really likes that song too, for some unknown reason. Yeah, I am. I don't claim it's anything brilliant but I like the song.Zaia wrote:So you're ok with a guy singing about how his ex-girlfriend is dating a guy that looks like a different girlfriend of the singing guy? Is it bad when you're tired of a song before it's even for sale?Stormbringer wrote:I'd also like to nominate U2 "Vertigo"
