Until you get an attack in London, Paris or Rome. Then, you'll think the odds of getting a bomb, or worse, in Lisbon or Vienna are not that negligible. Bali was not a terror target, neither.

Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will take out Bill Bidwell's office.

Yes and No.

Yes, because you're letting the fear they want to generate to actually determine how it will dictate your life. Ideally you should not let this happen to you.

No, because in reality you have people you wish not to suffer and your life is not just your own persay.

So in the end you are doing what any husband or father would do fearing for your life for the good of your familiy, nothing wrong in that. Ideally and what is reality usually never mesh.

Besides I used to work in Pentagon City when that attack happen I still get minor quivers.

There are many muslim fundies in the E.U, specially in countries like England and France. And we have no borders. They just have to get into the car and drive.

We are safer than people in the most important capitals. London and Paris will get an attack, eventually. But it's very simple to put a bomb in our cities.

In fact, being a secondary taget means security will be more laxed, and that increases the odds of terrorists getting through, if an actual attempt is made.

still, austria did not give the fundies any reason to attack us...we aint even part of the NATO

I think that the chances of someone getting hit by a terrorist attack in toronto are less than being in a deadly car accident or a plane crash.
If you do get reluctant, you might as well stop traveling on planes and driving on fast highways.

I wouldn't worry about it Mike. Precautions are always necessary, but the chances of your being exactly where and when Al Queada strikes is still statistically insignificant. Don't let those scumbuckets change your routine.

And yes i forgot, it does make you a wimp, car bombs were exploding in my city for a decade but the moms never hesitated on getting out to the streets to get food, so you see, it does make you a wimp, but it's livable.

Slightly paranoid maybe, but not a wimp. I am of the opinion that one should never give the pricks the satisfaction of feeling like thay have done something to further their goals.
But i Guess they did, haven't they?

I will take your statement under advisement, based on the level of respect others here have for your opinions. In other words, did anyone hear an annoying buzzing sound?

PS. People need to get food to survive. I don't need to go downtown except for recreation. There's a difference, dumb-ass.

I have to re-login as Admiral Kanos to ban people, and I just haven't done it until now.

No, perhaps a bit paranoid buut not a wimp. One nice thing about Detroit they'll never hit it. Nothing here and more Muslims per capita than any other city in America.

Besides, the attrition rate in Detroit is already so high that a terrorist attack would just blend into the statistics. I lived within an hour of Detroit for four years; I know what goes on in that town.

I know that, but they go for the "more punch for the dollar" style of thinking.

You're not being a wimp. I still find myself watching the sky when I'm in the city (Philadelphia, in my case). We've even got our own twin towers (One and Two Liberty place, first and second tallest buildings in Pennsylvania).

It does not make you a whimp, but I think you are being overly worried. Its normal to react to a perceived danger. You just have to realize that getting killed by terrorists is extremely remote considering the size and populatoin of the US and Canda.

There are many sites where I live that could be terrorist targets, Golden Gate Bridge, Richmond Oil Refineries, The Bay Bridge, The Blue Cube, etc. But frankly I go about my daily business. Im more worried about the economy than anything else.

True, at least in the bad neighborhoods. On the other hand a lot of the Muslim neighborhoods are among the best neighborhoods crimewise.

Hmm considering where you live, I'd say it's an understandable reaction.
I for one, live 500 km from Paris and 1000km from Berlin away so I can go out without having to worry :D
