Mine are simply telepathic psychopathic alcoholic drugged up hippie barbarians who dont give a shit for politics, religion, or anything of that sort. My dad reformed somewhat (dropped the drugs completely) after my mom died from a drug OD... exactly ten years to the HOUR before thje WTC attacks (but that's another story)
My gay uncle (dad's brother) is also a teep, and he's a shaman at a church up in Michigan. My dad's new GF is just like my mom was minus the drugs and telepathy. My current BF is almost diametrically opposite from my dad (staunch Republican gun nut who supports legalization of Mary Jane yet doesn't drink or toke but does have weak precognition...) People honestly wonder what the hell is up with me at times too.

My mother believes that Jews control the government and are generally dishonest. You wouldn't believe some of the heated arguments we've had over this.

Wow! That surprises me, just because my experience with most Chinese mom's is that they dont have much of a clue about Jews. Jews are just white people to them. Most of the Chinese mom's I know are really prejiduced against blacks.

Anyway, my mom tends to believe everyone is corrupt and out to get her.
He also falls for the life was better 30 years ago, in every single way fallacy.

My dad is pretty rational except when it comes to Iraq. Then he is like carpet bomb them into oblivion. Same for Cuba. He's white and from Colorado, so Im not sure what the beef with Cuba is all about.

well, let's see, my dad's a Bible-thumper, my mom's pretty moderate though. and they both now know i'm gay. (God, i can't wait till the first time my dad and i get into a battle, that's gonna be a metric shitload of psych damage)

my dad don't like the fact i follow partly pagan beleifs (my religious beleifs are as follows: ~45% Christian(practicing, non-church/non-demonination), ~30% Wiccan/other pagan, ~15% evolutionist.)

i've got a pretty normal family, just my family managed to spawn something very much NOT normal, me.

lucky you were able to leave at 18, there wasn't a chance in hell of it for me, and now at 19 there's even less of it, 2 mental breakdowns in a week, a shattered mind, nearly being unable to function in RL as a result. (btw, one was a severe psychotic breakdown, last tuesday, the other was a mental/emotional breakdown today)

--Let me see here. My mother believes in God despite having the idea crushed before her very eyes more times than I can count. My father believes in UFO's or should I say doesn't beleive in them since he thinks they are aliens. He also beleives in various government conspiracy theories, however, having worked for the government on secret stuff that I don't know about I have to give him some leeway here. The government does cover a lot of shit up though I doubt it is the stuff he thinks it is. Both my parents beleive they will have grand kids one day ...

My mom's side of the family is the ultra fundamentalist religious conservative side. I have found several books from Pat Robberson and Jerry Faultwell in their home.

My dad's side is the ultra conservative staunch republican side. They have books from Rush Limbaugh, and listen to FOX news 24 hours a day. But don't seem that religious.

We get along just so as long as I don't bring up my own political and religious views. Which contradict most of theirs.
