If and when I have a daughter, I wouldn't be too worried about it. The Irish temper runs in my mother's side of the family (and I have it too), and my father's side has the tendency to be very interested in learning how to fight to win (not fairly...cheap shots are perfectly legal in a real fight). I think any daughter of mine would be able to take care of herself.

A shovel quite visible and be cleaning a shotgun...

A friend of mine fom Georgia said his dad was always cleaning his guns when his sister's date came to pick her up.

This kinda reminds me of my senior prom. I went to pick up my date. And we did the usual taking of pictures and the whole corsage ( Sp?) bit. And during dinner I don't know how it was brought up, but she said something like, " Did you know my dad had his shotgun out by the door?". That got me even more nervous than I already was. The guy grows and carves giant pumpkins for halloween, so I already know he's good with a knife.

Nah, I wouldn't fuck with him. I'd give him a friendly tour of the house, taking special care to show him my extensive gun collection.

Oh, and the large back yard where you could bury a body that never would be found
