That would depend if Stewart thinks just the current program is a waste (which of course it is), or space exploration in it's entirety...I'd vote for him. As for the NASA issue, it might be a good thing for someone who think's the current program is wastefull to be in office. It would make NASA actually have to work to cut the bs out if they wanted more funds.
Jon Stewart for President 2008?

I'd definately vote for Steward. He's got brains and charisma. But realistically, he doesn't have much of a chance. He's a common guy who will speak his mind and in politics, that can often get you in trouble.
Btw, why would Republicans want Arnold in? He's so left of the right that he's basically a Democrat on the social issues and he's even a Democrat on some of the fisical issues (at present and compared to other Republicans).

So? Have any of our recent Presidents made any serious effort to reach the stars?Given his reactions I would say he's not a space exploration fan at all. That's one hell of a negative in my book.

I think Stewards a good guy and all, but his opposition would have to be pretty bad for him to get my vote. It would be a terrible and reckless risk to throw someone into the Oval Office based on ideology who is otherwise unqualified to hold the position. Steward would have to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage government on a smaller scale before I hand him the keys to the most powerful position on earth.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Inaction is better than action against the goal. My dream Pres would be kicking, punching and pushing NASA and Congress into getting shit done. However one that just leaves them alone is the lesser evil than one who might attempt to destroy or dismember it.So? Have any of our recent Presidents made any serious effort to reach the stars?

Stewart
That having been said, I'm intrigued and amused, but cautious. I think I'm more attracted to the idea of a candidate who will talk straight, ably, and charismatically all at once, and also call his opponents' on their bullshit rather than letting them get away with it. I don't think I care who does this, as long as someone does.
