I saw it in 80 or 81. I know I saw ESB and ROTJ in theaters (some of my earliest memories), but I wasn't yet born when SW came out.

I've seen all the movies in the theater, and I saw ANH circa 1979 or 1980 in New Port RI when my father was stationed there. I was 4 or 5.

i watched the original trilogy on VHS at one of my Second Cousins house (Italian family big extended tightly knitted family) in the early 1990's. I remember my question to him

"Wow. do you have anymore of these movies?!?!"
"Yes theres 2 more"

I didnt watch those 2 more in that sitting but that day was my first viewing of Star Wars

1977, at the Markland Mall, in Kokomo, Indiana. That was the first time I saw Star Wars, and I wasn't even a year old. My dad took me because my mother needed a break. My dad and his friend wanted to see SW, so they took me along. My dad told me I just sat there, and stared at the movie screen, and didn't make a sound from start to finish.
It's kinda weird, because I can't remember when I first discovered Star Wars, it was just always there, like the way people don't remember when they first discovered their parents. I remember the first time I saw the WWF, Superman, X-men, and Robotech, but Star Wars has always been in my life.

Must have been '89 or so at home (rental probably). I'd have been 4 at the time.

I saw all three when I was really young, but don't remember them. I checked out TESB from the library in the early 90s. I would have been seven or eight. I saw ANH and RotJ not long afterwards, because I got the box set for my birthday or Christmas or something...

I saw all three over the course of three weeks in 1983 when I was just short of being 5 years old. The 1-screen move theater downtown decided to show ANH and TESB right before ROTJ came out. I've been hooked ever since :)

I first saw SW when my mom bought the OT on VHS back in '94 or '95; you know, when they had that whole "get the original Star Wars, remastered, one last time" campaign going on. I remeber thinking they were agonizingly boring. In fact, they bored me so much, I made up things, and for some reason thought they were in movie. Until I watched them again, years later, I remembered a lightsabre beam snapping in half.

Also, I thought that the DS was a moon covered with weaponry, and that the DS2 was the DS1, but with a chunk blown off. Although, that was more of a case of not really paying attention.

What started me on my path to SW geekdom was XWA. I remeber playing that game for hours, and thinking "Hmmm, maybe I should give SW another chance", so I went to see TPM which was in theatres at the time, and enjoying it. Of course, when I rewatched the OT, it completely blew me away.

I guess I was just to young to appreciate SW as a 10 year old.

I thought Swedish was mandatory in Finnish schools. Anyway, it's a good way of learning both Swedish and English at the same time, isn't it  ?

it is, that reason why most finnish speaking student learn it very poorly(I'm good with languanges, but still have problems learning Swedish). As for the OP when was kid in early 90's (before the SE) (I'm born 1982 so didn't see the orginal in theater)

My little hometown by the sea back in 1978, it took a year for the reel to reach the town. I was five, my dad took me. I think he regretted the decision, inadvertantly turning his son into a SW geek :D I remember first thing reaching home, drawing the scenes from the movie, like X-wings flying and Artoo getting zapped by the Jawas.

I don't remember the year, but I was really little. I couldn't have been more than five or six.

Earliest I can remember seeing it was on VHS at home back in 87 when I was 5. The tapes were the 10th aniversary ones.

When I was about 4? 5? back in 1981 or 1982 on HBO. Each time I saw it I just sat there in silent awe.
