You just want everyone to drive around at an artificially limited speed limit
for "our own good".
Laws against speeding are similar to laws against murdur. They prevent one stupid fuck from harming others.

I say shoot the damn cameras down. The only reason for the existence of police is to extort people from their money to compensate for their low salaries and lack of other skills.
The most common strategy is to suddenly make up a new speed limit in a zone that makes no sense, then without any warning, the same day they plugged the damn sign they hide and wait for the dough to roll in. Damn pigs.
What kind of fucktard puts a 70 km/h limit in a non-urban zone, on a road that looks and feels like a damn highway, surrounded by nothing but factories AND crossing bridges... the kind of fucktard who wants to rob people of their hard-earned cash.
And walkers are another matter: they have no respect for red lights, they'll simply walk right onto the road. Of course the laws says: if you hit anybody with your car, it's your fault no matter what (even if the SOB was drugged out of his mind and walking like a zombie, trying to jump onto car windshields). A friend went to jail because some guy jumped from a bridge and landed on his car. A secretary where I used to work was brought to the station because some stupid 4y-old kid came out running out of his house and crashed into her PARKED car, while she was inside a building! Then of course the pigs said she could go free if she performed sexual favors.

Well, I cant speak for the rest of the country but for California the cameras are becoming quite common at intersections with heavy traffic. They are used to get red light runners and they should be used.
They cut down on deaths and injuries not to mention property damage.
On an interesting side note, yesterday I was at an intersection waiting for an ambulance to cross. When the ambulance finally rolled through, it went through the red light and triggered the cameras. Just thought that was interesting.

Hi. My name is Chris...and I'm a speeder!
[/satire]
Seriously though, I fully admit that I speed. Not to the point where its insane mind you. The most I do is 10 over the limit, and thats only on the interstate. Most of the time, thats how fast the actual traffic is moving and there are still cars that pass me. On the highways...I do about 60 (limit is 55). What pisses me off more than anything is the damn old farts that poke along at 30 or 40....IN RUSH HOUR! That, and the bastards that won't dim their lights at night. (I return the favor by aiming my mirrors RIGHT in their face.) Now if its close to a school, I'll back off for the sake of the kids. Anywhere else...all bets are off.

Where do you live where 30 or 40 at rush hour is poking along? Traffic sucks so bad here that 30 is probably the average speed for large segments of the commute.

I'm talking about on a two-lane highway (which ironically gets more traffic than the four-laned one a mile away!). This is when the old farts go out on their patrols and cut off anyone going faster than they are. >:( And they wonder why they get angry looks when people FINALLY get a chance to pass their stupid asses. Its because of people like that, that makes me wish that automobile manufacturers would use something stronger than sheet metal....that way I could ram the bastards off the road.

My town is full of 75 year olds who still drive, 15 in a 45mph zone. They also don’t use singles or headlights. We don't really have much of a backup in rush hour, but a couple of these people on the same streach of road has the same effect.

Sounds like Florida or some other retirement state.
Hehe, traffic here can be so bad that on freeways with 5 lanes its still stop and go in the worst spots.
Anyone that cuts in front of others to slow them down is just a big danger as any reckless speeding.

To all those who keep posting 'wah it's just about money', you have proven yourself very, very stupid.
Fact: A camera like this will take a picture of speeders and their plates.
Fact: The cameras generate profit.
Now, how could they be doing that? The only money that comes from such cameras is from fines attached to tickets. Soooooooooo if it's about money, the money must come from people who are breaking the law. It's call cause and effect. Money doesn't magically appear.
The really sad part is even after spelling it out, some people will claim it's not so.

Where the fuck do you live!? Anyway, just go headbutt the police chief's parked car a few dozen times, and get him thrown in jail.

Really? What kind of state/country has stupid laws like this?

And you have proven yourself to be very stupid. How about I
ask the government to erect a massive bank of cameras to keep
track of your every move 24/7/.......after all it should prevent you
from committing crimes....never mind that this would be a massive
invasion of your privacy....
It has been shown that the Government monkeys with the yellow light
timing where they place the Red Light Cameras, and I wouldn't be
surprised if they keep placing the tolerance limits on those
speeding cameras exceedingly low.
Everyone breaks the speed limit by about 10 MPH even in a crowded
highway, because EVERYONE is moving 10 MPH above the limit.
Keep track of how many times you break the speed limit in one day
and then come back to me.
PS, just to annoy you, last night coming home frm school I hit 80+ MPH
on that road, which has a 40 MPH speed limit.

If the speed limits where resonable, Then the Cameras would be resonable
However they are not or could somone kindly explain me how a six lane highway through FARMLAND(IE three lanes on each side and its strait for nearly eleven miles) has a bloody 50! Mile an hour Speedlimit on it?
The sign is so fucking ignored its not even funny, The Cops do 70 and we do 75, The people who are pulled over are normaly doing 90
Fifty fucking miles an hour, in basicly perfect driving conditions(Strait Line three lanes.. normaly on one is used so you got two free lanes normaly...)
You see dumb shit like that all over the place and thats why people get mad at the Cameras watching them along highways

Yes, it's incredible how many people live in such perfect places where the grass is always green and the birds sing to you whenever you walk by, and where the speed limits are always reasonable and heavy-handed laws work and make the world a better place.

Or where the government doesnt lower the speed limit overnight and then
sends a boatload of cops to catch the new criminals.

In fact that was my first speeding ticket. Worthless scum...

The laws exist for a reason.
Believe it or not, about one week ago a severe car accident occured outside the tower block in which I reside. I awoke to a loud crashing sound and sounds of screaming. A car had been speeding down the road and had lost control, resulting in a head on collision. Everyone involved was killed.
It only takes one error.
