All this PG-13 talk has me wondering...

Nudity, Swearing, and a helluva lot of gore wouldve been staples to this kind of flick. Vader throwing palps into the reactor? fuck that, instead we see vader rip palpies fucking heart out of his chest. Leia would indeed either be even skimpier or downright nude, and so would the rest of jabbas 'entertaining females'. And i'm sure we'd have some contrived 'death of a hero' scene.
Han Would be turned into a woman as well. (And still fall in love with Leia.)
I don't think anyone suggested that Ron Moore would be involved.

Grimm's fairy tales have a nasty dark undercurrent to them, cannibalism, patricide, fatricide, magic black and otherwise, etc. That doesn't stop them from being fairytales. When you look at it with adult eyes sure the stuff can be gruesome but children love fairytales and Star Wars in my opinion definately qualifies. Aliens and its gory action sci fi ilk most certainly does not.
Interestingly enough, my six-year old younger son loves the movie "Aliens". He begged me to let him watch it from the moment he saw pictures of what aliens looked like. Of course, he's a bit odd that way; he loves monsters of all kinds and he actually cheers for the aliens to kill the humans. His favourite part of AOTC is ... you guessed it ... the arena monsters on Geonosis. His favourite part of TPM is the giant fish eating the slightly less giant fish. His favourite part of TESB is the walker attack, because the walkers strike him as being sort of like giant metallic monsters. His favourite part of ROTJ is the Rancor and the Sarlacc. For him, it's all about the monsters (he likes Starship Troopers too).

That sounds like myself as a child. Did he see the original Alien yet?
