I just counted the tabs open in this window, hit thirteen, realized I was only two thirds of the way done, and voted "13+". So it's eighteen in this one window here, plus eighteen more divided between two more windows. So, 36 total. This is a bit extreme, as I usually don't have any more than between 16-24 open at a time, spread across a couple instances of Firefox. (This comes from my habit of Googling things/looking up words/etc and not wanting to immediately close interesting tabs.)
Though if I'm looking up *coughs* other things, I will sometimes spawn up to 25 extra tabs in a single window in very short order. So up to 60 tabs open at once, and the sad thing is I only refer to five or six of them at any one time.
