Reminds me of the immortal Wowbagger, who tries to jazz up a dreary eternal existence by insulting everyone in the universe in alphabetical order.

And Kendall, your electrocution story is the textbook case of what I mentioned earlier, with the brain going "Holy shit, I'm gonna die. Think happy thoughts. THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS!"[/u]

The prospect of death doesn't bother me. I don't know; I'm ambivalent. It's something new (which is interesting), and then everything's over, so it's not like I'm going to regret having done it. I would like to have all my financial stuff worked out ahead of time though, for the ease of those left after me. That's my inner accountant speaking.

I'm not suicidal any longer, but I'm not the "cling to life! Cling! Cling with everything you have!" type, either. Oh no, teenage angst. :P
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

I have my doubts about that. Why him? Instead of my parents or my gf at the time?

It's probably because he is my hero and the driving force behind my life. Although some people say that what you see in these cases is totally random.

I prefer the idea of reincarnation to just about every other alternative. You get to keep on existing, but nothing will get boring because you won't remember it, also I've often wondered what it would be like to be a shark (because of the electro-sense). Unfortunately I don't believe in reincarnation, so I'm stuck with mortaphobia(?).

Death...fuck that shit. It's nice to accept the inevitable, but I seriously hope that they come up with some sort of life-prolonging treatment or cryogenic storage before I go off to join the choir invisible.

I don't believe in an afterlife, and I figure that it can't hurt, since it's not as if you are just sitting in the dark, in your coffin, counting "1 quadrillion mississippi . . . " to stave off boredom; you aren't aware of what's going on.

Then again, my ideal immortality would be a vastly extended lifespan, plus the ability to go into hibernation for thousands(or even millions of years) at a time(maybe some form of cryogenics). Although I'm not afraid of death, I'd like to see how the future plays out, to the end of the universe in the far future.

That's why I like reincarnation ^_^
An immortal soul, without infinite memory to let stuff get boring...and the opportunity to experience all sorts of different lives.

Plus, if Buddhism got anything right, then there's always the ability to get off th'ride once you achieve nirvana...

I'm with the people that are scared. I love life. I have no desire to end my existence. I see no problem living eternally. There will ALWAYS be sometjhing new to do. Ways to evolve. People to help.

I don't want to die even IF there is an afterlife. I definitely don't want to if there isn't.

I'm hoping genetic discoveries may eventually enable us to extend our life span. Probably the most realistic possibility.
You have to realize that most Christian "moral values" behaviour is not really about "protecting" anyone; it's about their desire to send a continual stream of messages of condemnation towards people whose existence offends them. - Darth Wong alias Mike Wong
