With the B-Wing, what to you think that long middle wing is for?

MGLT is a useless marker for speed. try KPM or KPS.

Your fighter seems like a medium fighter type. you dont really need a rear turret on a medium fighter its quite near useless. Try a ECM instead for throwing off torpedoes and missiles.

Add in a Secondary Hyperdrive as an option.

Use R-Units for your astromechs, they're tried and true.

Add in a sensor package with comms jammers.

BTW what are you doing this for, D6 (WEG) or D20 (WOTC) ?

Time period this is for is about 1,000 years before Ep 4, D20 setting i can convert real easy for it, its a freeform rp.

Yeah, because SW bombers are big, remember? If warheads are small enough to fit in tiny little fins, why are things like gunships huge? Hmmm? I don't give a fuck what WEG says. Drag? In space? Ha.

It's ALL fin. The biggest parts are cockpit and drive. If the magazines are so small, why not put them on every ship? There's no downside: B-wings are spindly pieces of shit and still claimed to be 'heavy assault fighters'. They're claimed to be maneuveurable, heavy gun armament, and have piles of warheads. It's got it ALLLLLLLLLLzor.

Maybe I should scale an Xwing wing against a B-wing, and see how many warheads the X-wing could carry if it's wings were thicker!

Still, its not as wanky as TIE-Ds. Ugh.

Ok while I admit starfighters are as their name states space bound but that doesnt mean they don't EVER fly in atmosphere. they do launch off of planets and do have stafing runs. TIEs are known to be less maneuverable in atmosphere.

The 'fin' as you so eloquently put it (its a foil) is also a manuevering device to aid in turns. Hell, real world physics require wings, ever seen a space shuttle? it has wings and it spends alot of time in space. You sound like you want every fighter to be a flying brick. How boring.

B-Wings are NEVER claimed to be maneuverable, they are claimed to be slow as hell, and not very maneuverable. QUOTE where it says theyre manueverable and I'll rescind this part of my statement.

-A SQUADRON took down an Imperial Star Destroyer. Admittedly they were destroyed in the process but the accomplishment is spectacular.
-Their shields put them as stronger than Y-Wings.
-Their weapons loadout allows them to take on capital ships, and win.

Oh yeah all SW bombers are big. Real World bombers are big too, ever seen a B52?

TIE Bomber, Big Cyllinders.
Y-Wings, Large cockpit, big ass engines required just for speed.

The missiles on a Gunship are huge, note that they needed Mass Drivers to load.
The torps on the Slave I were very large comparitively as well.

And how exactly are TIE/Ds wank? theyre just droid TIEs with wing lasers rather than ball-cockpit ones. Oh is it because they are maneuverable or because they are mass produced by another thing? Oh wait, I know, Your hating on Defenders not Droids... well specify which D next time.

Defenders are kick ass, the reason they are so 'wank' as you put it is that they are overarmed and fast and manueverable. oh yeah and they cost a FUCKLOAD to produce, therefore the price outweighs the production value, furthermore there are few of them. Also note that when they engage X-Wings, they LOSE. so much for an 'uber' fighter.

On the other hand if either of these fighters sported one of those Unstoppable guns like this guy was touting then they'd be 'wank'. Your definition of Wank is highly suspect. I'm guessing you hate EU in its entirety as well, am I correct?

OK, why do you need an astromech droid? Why not just remove the slot for the droid and stuff another computer back there? If it's the repair ability you want, fine, but just be aware that you're sacrificing the computing power for the repairing ability.

Also, it looks like you're trying to make this a general-purpose fighter. Great if you're like the Rebel Alliance and can only afford/produce a few designs, but in general, specialized > generalized.

So I say, take out the rear laser, mount another laser forward instead. Give it some missile launchers to aid in taking down enemy fighters. You're not going to down a capital ship in this no matter how hard you try. This seems a bit undergunned for something of this size, but you are taking hundreds of years before the movies so that's OK. How strong is the hull in dice ratings, or RU, as used by some sources?
