With Bozo and Bitbrain running things, I don't think we'll be seeing much of Trek anytime soon. However, someone else might get rights to the series, and put tihngs back on track. I wounder what B&B would do in that case...

It's not dying, Storm, it's dead. Roddenberry's Star Trek, anything which was even remotely like Roddenberry's Star Trek, died when the Enterprise went down at Veridian III in Generations and Kirk died in a fight over a TV remote. We've been watching putricent, fruit-soft flesh sloughing off the bone ever since.

We've been watching the decay of a corpse.

(sobbing over coffin clearly marked Star Trek, drops flowers by gravestone)

I'll miss you, and I hope those two freaks over there with the shovels will stop trying to dig you up and dress you up in stupid costumes. Goodbye my first love.

(This is now the funeral call for Trek, make your amends, before the producers screw up the body further.

They could resurrect it though, they just need to get some extremely talented writers and producers.

As long Paramount see Star Trek as a cash cow Star Trek has no future. Ever if B&B go tomorrow Paramount would replace them with someone similier because what B&B does is the easest way for Paramount to make money off of Star Trek

I bet the people who do Stargate could make more money out of ST than B&B...

Perhaps they could.

But that would imply taking a risk, and we know that Paramount isn't about to take a risk with the Star Trek cash cow.

As it is, they have enough people who'll swallow the horseshit that those 2 shlockmeisters crank out. Why change?
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."- General Sir Charles Napier

The ST franchise, in my opinion, should have stopped as soon as the last Voyager episode hit the airwaves.

Why??? Anyone who has watched Voyager will know that Voyager was the last that they could squeeze out of the ST cash cow.

Not as long Butthole and Butthead are in control. I downloaded two more episodes of Enterprise and I had to force myself to watch it. I puked on it.
