The "newbie" greetings were not present here when I joined in late August. Then again, at first I didn't want to be involved in these forums:
I was prowling around Mike's site for a while before he put up the discussion forums. When I saw them appear, I said, "Gee, that looks stupid," and I ignored them. Later, curiosity got my goat, so I entered the forums to see what was being discussed. Watching Darkstar post his drivel and seeing the hail of blistering responses prompted me to join in the fun...

They sound appropriate for their MS, but I've never seen them.
I remember that Kampfer means "fighter" or "champion" in German, though.

I've seen it compared to Enterprise, insofar as that both shows tried to "modernize" the original's designs and make them look cooler.
