Again I retierate, How tough is r2? Structurally. HE got kicked by the Super BAttle droid, tossed around in the Invisible Hand's hangar, and all sorts of other fun stuff. A testament to SW tech that a standard (eventually outdated) droid can take that kind of a beating.

He might have sold it as a "security measure", in case any Jedi commander got delusions of grandeaur.

Since Artoo and Threepio are the ones flowing through the story on a quest, as it were, they're bound to take some beatings and keep on tickin'.

I was a little amused by the scene in which R2 emerges from the pile of trashed battle droids.

He's tougher than milspec.

Artoo is but a little tin god. Who else could zap a Super Battledroid and live to tell the tale?

Damnit, even more incentive to pick up an Artoo action figure.

So.... no one got a good look at the VenStar landing gear?

I can only expect it to be tricycle somewhat like Padmé's yachts and the Corellian Corvette.

This is all I have to go on at the moment. Obviously I won't know for certain until I get one of my own to study. I take it there were no clear views from beneath a VenStar showing the gear extending/retracting, a'la the Acclamators in AotC?

I'm annoyed that on the Battle of Kashyyk, the Separatists could actually close to within a few hundred yards before the shooting started, and even then there seemed to be little or no organisation among the troopers and Wookiees

SW has never had all that amazing ground forces compared to what they could have. They should be doing this Dinochrome Brigade with VLS missile barrages hitting targets over the horizon and megaton level directed energy and kinetic weapons blasting shit. They could do with decent CIWS and AP batteries too.

What was with General Order 66? It evidently was already being taught to the clones, how many people would have known of such an order being there?

I figured that since the clones were officially meant to be backup for the Jedi, such an order would raise concern.

Well, the clones are absolutely loyal to the Republic as personified by the SC. Not only is there no reason that they would question a standing order such as 66, it also seems likely that they always focus completely on executing their most recent order and so there would have been no way for a Jedi to sense what was or might be coming.

I think you've misinterpreted me.

At some point, the clones are taught the rules/regulations/orders. Why weren't people reviewing the curriculum?

Because no one knew, perhaps? Given the whole army was started on Kamino by proxy of Palpy, they already had the training indoctrinated. The council wasn't going to question their own army, so they obviously accepted that this shiny new military force they got out of the blue is loyal.

As a matter of fact, in AOTC the Jedi that have just been rescued from the arena, start leading clonetroopers immediately (like Mace Windu: he jumps from the transport and goes into battle at the head of a group of troopers).

Spent shells?

Definitely looked like some kind of shell casing to me. An external power boost to the main turbolaser, perhaps? Maybe it ups the wattage of a blast for close range action, kind of like how old school ships would switch to canister and grape shot to rake masts and crew decks.

There was something that I noticed about Yoda's lightsaber: when he and Obi Wan were fighting their way into the ruined Jedi Temple, Yoda throws his lightsaber at a Clonetrooper and it gets imbedded in the trooper's chest. Yoda they jumps on the dead clone and pulls the saber back out as the body falls to the floor. Now that was one of the sweetest things that I have seen Yoda do, but I am wondering how an energy blade can get "stuck" into someone's chest. Wouldn't the blade slice through him and fall to the ground when gravity takes over? Just curious if anyone else noticed this.

I did as well, perhaps the blade requires some sort of force in order to cut. That is the only explanation I can think of

I would guess if Yoda threw the saber hard enough, the hilt would get lodged in somewhere, and prevent the blade from being able to move.

Maybe the melted armor 'glued' the lightsaber to the clonetrooper a bit.

OK, I had some serious objections to the Buzz-Droids. What exactly where the point of them? If the Vultures had fired something with a warhead, Obi-Wan would have been a little bit more debris orbited Coruscant. Remember, the missile didn't just deploy a massive unavoidable cloud of them in front of the Jedi Fighters, but matched velocities with them and then coughed the Buzz-Droids on the fighter to tear it up. By the very necessity of being that close, a proton torpedo like Slave-1 had would have blown Obi-Wan out of the sky and likely Anakin too, considering how close they were too each other. It seems like an overly complicated and inefficient solution to taking down a fighter. And where were the Jedi Fighter's shields?

However, I was impressed with R2 in that scene. R4 took it like a little bitch from the Buzz-Droids but R2 started whipping out gizmos when the Buzz-Droids came at him. That little droid doesn't take shit from anyone, not even Super Battledroids. I think that R2 should get an award for most kills by peeing on enemy killdroids and then lighting them on fire. Even when the Battledroids jumped the Jedi, R2 put up his "dukes" and was spitting lightning. Plus he continues his proud tradition of elite hacker skills. That droid is my hero.

Anybody noticed how fast hyperdrive really works? Padme was able to get to the Outer Rim just after Anakin is done slicing up the separatists and looking into the sunset. Palpatine arrives before Anakin can die of his burns. At most, it took him a few hours.

Technically, he tells the film. It may well be his exxaggeration!

Can anyone tell me if even HALF of R2's gizzmos are standard for an AstroMech Droid? Because if they arn't, then it begs the question where he got them. If they are, it begs the question why can't other R2 units kick so much ass?
