Hrm...Palpatine DOES care about Anakin, about Vader. He doesn't want him to get damaged and shit, and he wants good things to happen to him. The problem is, to Palpy, emotional turmoil and anger and hate ARE good things.

That sounds about right. After all, to a Sith, power is everything, and anger and hate give you power. Thus, things that make you angry are good, no matter how horrible they seem.

Oh boy, Palpatine would looooove the Incredible Hulk.

Man, Sith are emotionally screwed up. What they need is a good counsellor, not a lightsaber in the belly.

It's not as though they're sociopaths or anything.
