Not really. The Battle Droids were doing just fine, at least until Anakin got off that shot deus ex machina style. Unless you seriously believe that Maul could have helped prevent that.

He could have killed Obi-Wan and captured Padme, thus prolonging the conflict.

Or he even could have shot down all the N-1s in the Sith Infiltrator. He should have been seen USING the ship. lol
