It certainly is. I can't remember another tracking shot from Star Wars that long; the ANH shot is the only that I can think of that comes even faintly close. Lucas tends not to use long tracking shots in these films. Not only is its length impressive, but the complexity of the shot is as impressive. I can't think of too many shots that track, rotate around the object as well as zoom in/zoom out. The other film that gave me a similiar feeling was the opening to The Two Towers with the overfly of the mountains.
