Well, you can TK blaster bolts in JK2, but that's game mechs, I think.

Good golly sir, you're right.. In JK2/JKA blaster bolts can be TK'd. Also in agreement with your statement that it's just game mechanics, though.

To summarize my earlier, overly-verbose post..
In "reality" I'm guessing Jedi can use TK to defend themselves to some decent degree against everything except blaster bolts, which is one of the reasons why they carry about lightsabers.

Where was it stated in Dark Rendevous that this was done using the Force? The impression I got from the fight at the spaceport suggests Lightsabre work instead.

When? Mara was the one who was being attacked by Joruus. Hell, Luke Skywalker saved Mara from the rock attack, and later on, Luke was within the Force Bubble projected by those wriggly creatures. Unless you were referring to the Thrawn duology where they couldn't move away that avalanche of rocks.
