That's a problem in a lot of cities. For years over half the streets in Philadelphia could not be plowed because the heavy-duty plows the city used could not fit down them. The current mayor however get a bunch of smaller plows funded to do the job. Before that people used to bribe city trash truck drivers, all of which got plows in winter and do fit, to clear their streets.

We had some snow yesterday. It was pretty until it turned all into sleet and freezing rain. The power went out at about 12:30am. I didn't sleep because litterally every 5 minutes we'd here *pop* *crash* as limbs fell everywhere. THose limbs ended up taking out the line to the house, which didn't matter since the transformer was out. However, as of 8am, they hadn't been to check yet. Then again, CP&L had over 500,000 cutomers without power.

I hate ice.

Ugh, freezing rain. I hate freezing rain. Freezing rain has got to be one of the worst weather patterns my hometown gets.

Going rate was around a 100 bucks per block. Someone would just go around and get maybe five bucks from everybody on the street and that would cover it. Most worth while. Though I live out in the suburbs. My street gets local and county plows, it stays clear enough to drive a normal car without tires or chains in all but the worst blizzards.

Some French guy 200 years ago thought it was a good design. A lot of streets where laid out with suppressing a revolution in mind. Ever wonder why there's are so many traffic circles? Idea was troops could emplace cannons on them to sweep the streets in all directions.

Sounds tasty. The chocolate, I mean.
It was, thank you. I went out and shovelled the driveway, came inside and had a lovely cup of hot chocolate, then drove to the store to get some baking supplies. Today is the perfect day to make chocolate chip cookies, since the Kristinmas decorations are going up and it's still snowing outside. The roads were shit--I think we've gotten about 8 inches. But damn it's pretty. :D

And Kelly, I totally agree about the ice. Snow is lovely, but ice can kiss my ass.

I'd expect Washington State is glad, with the whole rainforest aspect combine with cold air life would be hell.
