Anyone ever eaten salmon with hot sauce? Mmmmmmm......

Get your fill of sci-fi, science, and mockery of stupid ideas

You just said that a lobster remains more alive after cooking and ingestion than a cow. Do you realize that? Is that what you intended?Cyril wrote:But not once I eat it. And that's the real sticking point.A cow is every bit as alive as a lobster.
How does steak sauce change the fact that you're eating processed crap when you eat a hot dog?A1 is the solution.
That's not your palate; that's your mental hang-up.I hate lobster. Crab I can eat, but would prefer not to.
As I said, it's all about your hang-ups. And BTW, a lobster is not a giant bug, and people don't eat its innards; they avoid the stomach area and eat the meat in the pincers and the tail. This is no different from eating a chicken drumstick. And, I'm sorry, but I find the image of someone cracking open the shell of just-killed, gigantic bug, and then proceeding to suck it's innards out to be absolutely revolting. It kills any pleasure I could take from that experience.
Nothing wrong with some raw meat or fish now and then, but sushi doesn't drip much blood and I dont see a point in paying for prepared food without the fire aspect.Hyperion wrote:yeah but some of us rather prefer the use of fire for malicious reasons, and prefer to eat meat that's still dripping blood.Sea Skimmer wrote:Humans developed the ability to make fire for a reason.Hyperion wrote:i'm into sushi. raw fish is like the best...
Yum, protein paste....AdmiralKanos wrote:
But it may interest you to know that certain large insects ARE, in fact, eaten in many parts of the world. The distinction between one kind of meat and another is often due to social conditioning more than anything else. Why should the idea of cracking open a lobster and eating its tailmeat be any more revolting than the idea of grinding up a cow into paste, compressing it into sausages, and then selling it as "food"?
I meant, it's easier to forget that it is dead. You just said that a lobster remains more alive after cooking and ingestion than a cow. Do you realize that? Is that what you intended?
I do not often eat hotdogs. However, they do not taste like crap, so I was blissfully unaware of this until you told me, and I shall now strive to repress the memory. How does steak sauce change the fact that you're eating processed crap when you eat a hot dog?
Yep. I'm a pretty fucked-up guy.That's not your palate; that's your mental hang-up.
Exactly. The image of someone sucking...stuff...from a gigantic claw is just...geck...for me.As I said, it's all about your hang-ups. Ugh. Yeah, I've seen those specials where people in Asian nations will trap thousands of these bugs in bamboo and then roast them. But it may interest you to know that certain large insects ARE, in fact, eaten in many parts of the world. You're making me droll, you bastard.Dalton wrote:I had a rather nice cup of New England Clam Chowder today. I also enjoy fish filets, especially flounder. I think I had trout once. And every year when I go to the local annual festival I always get a plate of baked clams, since they are sooooo good.
I eat lobsters with my bare hands. No pansey tools for me. I bite right through the shell!I don't eat crab or lobster, though. Too much effort, too little rewardI don't want to have to work for food, then work some more when I get my food
Like this:AdmiralKanos wrote: It tastes good. It lends variety to the dining experience. You don't feel as bloated afterwards. You get to know precisely which parts of the animal you're eating (not like hot dogs or ground beef). You are closer to nature, as you must confront and accept the fact that you kill and eat other living beings for sustenance. It is good for your health. There are lots of reasons.
Um, not to be disrespectful, but has it ever occured to you that he may genuinely dislike the taste of loster and crab? I can't stand 'em either, and I don't have any unusual hangups about seafood. Heck, I think the best calamari should have visible suckers on it!AdmiralKanos wrote:That's not your palate; that's your mental hang-up.

Hmm, since I'm a Pisces, does that mean that I'm committing cannibalism when I eat fish, horoscopically speaking?
