Is it online Ford?
Hey, let's set up a time so we can get a race or two in. I love some of these courses, they blow my mind (Waluigi Pinball anyone?)

Amazing who you can run into on the WiFi as well. I had the pleasure of meeting and beating Homestar of Homestar Runner in a random game earlier, and in a seperate game was totally demolished by an apparent Nintendo staffer.
Dalton, you don't need Nintendo's branded one to get on. Any old wireless router will do.
Nintendo doesn't support WPA, so you have to downgrade the security of your network to WEP

. No WPA == no sale to me (well, maybe until when I break down and decide to use the laptop as an AP. Until then.).

I sent my DS with a broken hinge in for repair with Nintendo, and they sent me a brand new one, very quickly. The downside to this? Because my MAC address changed, my Wi-Fi ID changed. I still have my contacts though. Everyone who has me on their list, delete me and add this new number.

? Are you that afraid of malicious warchalkers hijacking your wireless connection?

Just a bit irritated by the Nintendo fanboys trying to defend their lack of support

(yeah, I know I'm a gross hypocrite

).
I don't want any computers on my network broken/damaged by some script kiddy- I have a fileserver running w/o passwords internally and don't want the possibility of people deleting things, however unlikely that might be. Also, gobs of P2P traffic slowing down connection == bad. Honestly it's not much of a problem, since I have spare network cards to turn into ad-hoc pseudo APs.

Oh boohoo! if your upset about the WEP, just by the wifi dongle that turns your XP machine into an AP.(Well I guess your SOL...since your one of those guys that uses Linux IIRC.)

Well, apparently, not really since I have a Atheros card that functions as a 2nd AP under Linux... Its the principle of the thing dammit!

It's unacceptable to only support WEP in 2005.

Aw, who cares? Just turn the encryption off while you play the game.
Then again, I don't live in a high-traffic area so I don't have to worry so much about hijackers. And I frankly don't care if they borrow my connection, or even snoop at the various videos and games on my PC, as long as they don't delete anything (I should probably password lock the shared folders).

Fucking thing won't work w/ my crudely hacked together laptop AP- other wifi card can't see anything from the DS at all. Still manages to connect to neighbor's though- I'll just pirate that connection.
