Captain Picard has extensive diplomatic experience, as well as extensive experience with the
Romulans. He is an excellent choice for the job.

Exactly, which is why it was stupid, it was so contrived. Read what your wrote again
and ask yourself if it wasnt lame, and if something a little more plausible could have
been used. If you didnt think that was contrived and lame, Its a good thing you dont
write for star trek, theyd be even worse, if thats possible.
Thank you Matus for coming to my defense. This guy seems to take this stuff way too personally.

Why don't you just drop the bullshit and right out say the entire premise of the movie was
FUBAR?
Well I know that's what I was trying to say.
We all know that's what you're trying to say,
Right.
so why mince words?
Who's mincing words? It sucked. I'm not trying to deny it.
Quote:
Would you contend that NO movies are 'like' star trek VI except star trek VI?

YES, I would, because the political aspect of VI is unique among the ST movies. You said:

I mean that was good stuff, you felt like something like that could transpire in present
day politics. They don't make Trek films like that anymore.
Woah woah wait a minute dude. Matus didn't say that, I did. Matus is a good friend of mine, we think alike when it comes to movies (well not always). Matus tends to dwell on the scientific aspects to movies, my friend Moff Jerjerrod pointed me out this topic of discussion and he dwells more on the political stuff, and I'm more onto the political stuff as well. I thought Matus and Moff Jerijerrod were pointing some good stuff and I wanted to pitch in my two cents. Am I not allowed to do that?

The ONLY Trek film like that was VI, you dumbass.
Dude, again you're taking my quotes not Matus. And I have no idea why you feel the need to call me a dumbass. What's with the name calling? Did you direct Nemesis or something? Do you feel the need to call me a dumbass because you feel inadequate with yourself? Why are you taking my comments as a personal attack on you?
Quote:
Um, we're talking about the cold war enemy to the Federation for centuries, you'd
think they would make this a bigger deal than they did in the movie.

Never mind that they were allied during the Dominion War.
So cold war enemies never ally themselves with the enemy of their enemy? Ever heard of Stalin, World War 2?
Quote:
Oh well. It seems like to me the franchise is pretty much dead.

Hey, cool, that means we won't hear your whining about how you wasted your precious time and
money to see another ST movie that you thought sucked.
If it upsets you so much I didn't like the film, don't read what I have to say. I'm still trying to figure out why you got so upset. It's as if you wrote the movie yourself or something. Are you the only one to express your opinion on this forum?

They call me Nixon

Just to let you folks know, I am no longer Lucas-sucks, from now on I shall be refered to as Nixon. I have seen the error of my ways, and I now understand that "Nixon" has the true insight to the Star Wars franchise. Thank you.

May Ewoks come knocking on your door.

Only if they're ignorant.

What about Spock?

You know I just realized another thing about Nemesis. Why was Spock not mentioned at all in the film? In TNG series Spock went to Romulus in a diplomatic effort to create a better relationship between Vulcan and Romulus. Those episodes were a season cliffhanger too. I would think he should have some role in the movie or that the Federation would be asking what happened to him. Perhaps try to ascertain if they could try to get in contact with him. Again, these writers just have a disrespect for us fans apparently. They don't care that we've invested hundreds of hours watching the series and paying good money to see the film and buy their products. They don't care that we've been following the franchise, whatever they can do to push a script through fast enough and make some money. In the process comprimising premises they established throughout the entire series. Are we just supposed to ignore everything that happened before the movie?

Sure

Call me what you wish. But nothing can take away from the awesome jedi powers of Nixon. Only Nixon could go to Dantoonie. Or China. But hey, who's keeping track really?

Or the Kremlin. Or Egypt. Or Syria. Or Saudi Arabia. But I digress..

Precisely. 8)

Also be sure to check out his episode by episode analyzation of ST:TNG, revealing its totalitarian communist government.
