Where were the Klingons' shields in DS9 when the Dominion bugs rammed them?

Were the Odyssey's shields up when the bug rammed it? I remember the shields being useless against Dominion weapons at the time but I don't remember if they were ever taken down in the course of the battle.

Crackpot: They switched to hull-huggers supposedly because it was cheaper to do so.

If the Scimitar's shields were up, why did we see no shield interaction *at all*?

They apperantly got a competant engineer in UFP. Not only did they have Hull hugging ships, but they also shielded the warp core.

I think it's funny that the debris damaged the shields more than all the fire the Enterprise was taking. RAM THEM TILL THEY GIVE UP!
