Wasn't there some Wookiee Jedi in NJO with a lightsaber the colour of "molten bronze"?

A really interesting lightsaber color would have to be something like black. I also think that a white lightsaber would be cool, or one that looked white, but had colors that were only visible in the ultraviolet spectrum.

I would presume that a white lightsabre with ultraviolet colors would most probably be constructed by a Gand, Verpine or a Jedi of one of the numerous alien species that can see in ultraviolet; there's not much reason for a human Jedi to make a plain white lightsabre with such exotic additions, as it'd be plain vainity. And we all know what happened to Corran Horn when he added a extra crystal to his sabre out of vainity... only to find out that the jewel he'd pulled off a liquor bottle was paste. :P

Kyle Katarn used an orange lightsaber, which he presumably built himself, throughout the Jedi Knight expansion pack: Mysteries of the Sith.

And of course you could always choose this color in the multiplayer portions of the game. Various Jedi "extras" in Jedi Outcast and Academy used orange colored blades. In the original Jedi Knight, the "Brothers of the Sith" (Gorc & Pic) both used orange blades, additionally.

actually IIRC that was mean to be the same sabre that used in the end on Jedi Knight (Light Side).

The Jedi lightsabers in JK2 and JA that you mention seemed more like yellow than orange to me. Correct me if I am wrong because I uninstalled JK2 some time ago.

Wrong. Katarn got that orange saber from one of the Dark Jedi in the original Jedi Knight game. I forget the wee dudes name but he saves Kyle after Kyle's own saber is destroyed. Obviously Kyle then builds another as in Jedi Outcast he weilds a blue saber

IIRC there was a colour difference between the lightsabre he got from Yun in that game and the one he wielded in Mysteries of the Sith. Yun's sabre was more yellow than orange, IIRC, and in Mysteries of the Sith I remember it as orange.

What Vympel said.
Lord Revan wrote:actually IIRC that was mean to be the same sabre that used in the end on Jedi Knight (Light Side).

It's not. The one you have in JK1 is yellow (Yun's saber). The one you get in Jedi Outcast is then blue. Since JK1 and MotS use the same engine, and the same sabers, they could have easily used the yellow one had they chosen to.

JK2 and JA both have an orange saber and a yellow saber among the colors. No (in-game) explanation is given for why Kyle changes from orange in MotS to blue in JK2. There's a non-SOD explanation, and that was that Lucas/Arts pressured Raven into adopting a more "movie-accurate" philosophy for the Single player hero. Ie: bad guys use red, good guys use green, blue or purple. And since you've already used green and purple in the SP games, blue was the only thing left to choose...

If I had the time I could dig out screenshots to prove it (some can still be seen on JediKnight.net or lucasarts.com), but here's how it breaks down:

Yun's saber (JK1, light side path; dark path stays green): yellow (Gorc & Pic use orange)

Kyle's saber in MotS: orange (Mara Jade's is purple)

Kyle's JK2 saber: blue

Kyle's saber in JA: blue (the player's saber color is customizable)

The conflict in JK2 is that suddenly his saber is blue. This was explained as a necessary fudge from the Powers That Be (tm), rather than some plot point. In the game it's talked about as if Kyle had that (blue) lightsaber all along. So I guess from the point of view of Jedi Outcast, after he lost Yun's yellow saber, he built a blue one and that's what he was "supposed" to be using in MotS. I just ignore it and pretend he still had the orange one throughout the last two games. ;)

IIRC, Kyle's JK2 and JKA sabres are the same ones- a very good sabre hilt desig too, I might add. A significant improvement over the clumsy design of the original one we see in the video-cutscenes back in the original Dark Forces II.

I also loved the hilts developed for selection by the player in JKA in general- though some of them were huge for some unknown reason, but I never chose them.

Yes, they're identical. Same engine, same models and textures (and same dev team this time). ;) I like the hilt as well. The old design didn't see too oddball to me, just not as interesting.

i believe Chewies nephew has a bronze colored lighsaber. in KOTOR the bronze and orange crystals looked exactly the same

You know in ANH it looked like the lightsaber Luke activated looked kinda white.

It was. VFX inconsistency.

One word, "Wikipedia" it tells all the colors of the lightsabers there.

You must have made that up right? Also how would a triple lightsaber work how would you hold it?

I thought that possibly, white lightsabers were training lightsabers. But you know that all went down in AOTC. When Obi-Wan went into the training area with Yoda, all the younglings had Blue and Green lightsabers.I also thought that Orange lightsabers were something special. Like, a Jedi that is the helper of the Chosen one and Overseer of the Jedi Council, and he would have an orange lightsaber. But apparently there are people with Orange lightsabers already.

Easy! Just make it a saber sai. ;)

I actually constructed a (fanwank) six bladed lightsaber one time. It was inspired by this off-brand Star Wars imitator toy three bladed lightsaber (basically a ninja Sai, one center blade that was longer and blue, and two shorter white blades on either side, and a hand and a half handle). I duct taped two of them end to end, scanned, photoshopped it and bent the side blades out to the sides, extended the blades so they were of equal length, so it looked more like a double-ended trident staff. Heh. ;)

And I thought that was a totally crazy wanky idea until I saw the G4 special about Star Wars games, and it showed some fan with what basically looked like a saber bat'leth made from toy lightsabers... lol

SuperShadow used my idea of the black bladed lightsaber (heck, who hasn't thought of a black bladed lightsaber) and also made up the idiotic Penari Lightsaber! A yellow bladed "illegal" saber that can cut through other sabers (and somehow another Penari can be tuned to resist the first one!). And of course we all know it looks just like a beamsword from Super Smash Bros. ;)

Incidentally, that doesn't sound too far fetched of an idea from the other crap we've gotten from certain EU sources. I mean c'mon... we've got friggin' SABER CHUCKS now! (Assaj Ventress from SW Battlefront II expansion on the Xbox). Not to mention we've got so many melee weapons that can stop lightsabers ("Sith" weapons, Vong weapons, light whips, etc).
