Sure you can say that Anakin is Jesus, Shmi is The Virgin Mary, Palpatine is Lucifer, and The Force is God, but there are way too many pieces that don't fit for Star Wars to be equivalent with The New Testament. For example: Padme Amidala and her twins (AFAIK, the bible never mentions Jesus having children), also important is the fact that Anakin learns from and becomes an apprentice to Palpatine, who by this interpretation is The Devil. Anakin also, never has Disciples, and dosent (at least within the confines of the movie) become resurrected after his death.

I'll concede that Shmi's virgin birth is a rather large connection to The Bible, but not an all-encompassing one. Lucas was inspired by many sources when he wrote Star Wars- "The Hidden Fortress," "Buck Rogers," and "Flash Gordon" to name a few, but ultimately, Star Wars is a unique creation with many similiarites to dozens of works.

I guess that's were I screw up a bit but still at that moment he didn't think about the other people he was saving. Palpatine represented Satine and Vader, Jesus so when he rided of Palpatine he rided of evil for a good time. I haven't given it much thought except the plot in Ep. I.
Right. So the similarities don't really extend much at all beyond Anakin's virgin birth; you could just as well say Vader represents God, and throws Palpatine down the exhaust shaft as God threw Satan from Heaven.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
