...but he didn't cover the flight deck with flat-topped plates! How do you expect your mini-pilots to take off from a flight deck that's basically a gigantic pothole?
and I guess he's missing the catapult too. He needs to build one with actual lego motors, and launch his aircraft... sorta...

I'm going to guess it's not US-style supercarrier, but rather a smaller escort-carrier. Those don't always have catapults.

But by using those types of plates, he can accurately simulate battle damage....
Thats what I would do...

It is a US supercarrier, specifically the U.S.S

I suppose when he's done, he'll waterproof it, then take a picture of it in a pond or something
(It probably does float)

In my experience lego constructions do not float unless you use special boat hull pieces

You know, it occurs to me that I should show these pics to my mom. Then maybe she'd stop bitching about how I waste time plaing World of Warcraft.

I'll just stand here quietly, drooling all over my keyboard.
That Yamato may turn out to be even more awesome than the CVN.
Whoever you are that built/are building those awesome models, I salute you.

I get the image of the guy building it running out of grey pieces four-fifths of the way through, and having the last part of it being random splotches of blue, yellow, red, green, and the black Technic pieces with the holes in them.
Still, it's amazing shit.

Sorry for the necro, but the builder has updated his carrier pics. I think this one
Carrier afloat is the money shot.
